    Bet the inspection officers haver fruit in their lunch boxes! Honest mistake, won't hurt you. Let it go. And thanks for showing your trip. Wife and I will be on the road in a few months and you've shown us many spots we should visit. Safe travels. Cheers

      She treated the fruit like it was diseased, wouldn’t even touch it! Glad we can help to show you some good spots for your trip. Safe travels

    An excellent look around that part of the country,thank you.The miscalculation with the fruit was something to learn from not something to beat yourself up about,shake those things off and leave them behind.Safe travels 👍

    When we were last there in 2020 a couple of locals assured me that what you did was ok. Maybe the rules have changed but I would have done what you did!

    Hi Vicki I had exactly the same experience with SA inspection station back in November. Ate or threw away everything but a small punnet of cherry tomates. Never gave them a thought opened up our fridge for inspector and oh no tomatoes! He pounced on them as if he had found me smuggling drugs. Anyway sane as you interview, photo of licence and my "contraband" asked if I had anything to say for myself. I dont know if I felt more guilty or stupid. Anyway I never heard another word so lets hope you dont either.😊 love your videos just sunscribed.

      Exactly how I felt. Made to feel like a drug trafficker 😳 Thanks for understanding, and for subscribing!

    Not dumb at all. An honest mistake. I got pulled up there too, said I had dumped it all. They still checked nd found one cherry tomato that I had missed. I thought it was funny, however they put me through the whole process you went through. Absolutely stupid. They need to focus on those really doing the wrong thing. 😘😘

      Wow! One cherry tomato 😳 They made me feel like a drug trafficker …. As if you would purposely bother with one tiny tomato. It’s obviously an accident.

    Hope you don’t get a fine. We live in Mildura. Recently went through fruit control and I asked if I bought a pre-made and sealed salad would that be ok and I was told NO. So now we go across empty and purchase in Renmark or Berri

    Don’t worry about the border thing we went across and were admonished for having potatoes and carrots just keep smiling and as they say shit happens

    Glass of wine with a nice view like that's makes all those feelings disappear. Nothing to be embarrassed about we all misinterprete things from time to time.

    • @happycampersaustralia

      @@happycampersaustralia thanks for that the hubby and I are hitting the in 26 to live full-time on the road and I was thinking I need at least 21 foot to be comfortable but having to keep the weights under control we have a ranger with lots of extras it's a juggling act that's why I was wondering if you have an annexe to give you a bit of extra room ?

    • @happycampersaustralia
      @happycampersaustralia  Месяц назад +1

      We live quite comfortably in a small van, we sit outside most of the time, but there is enough room inside if the weather turns bad. Yes, juggling weight is tricky, we have a Ranger too. You will be surprised how much stuff you don’t actually need. Make your list, then cut it back 😉

    When you are camping without power do u use a generator or something else if you need to put air con on?

    • @happycampersaustralia
      @happycampersaustralia  6 месяцев назад

      We don’t use the air con. If we really need to use it, we find a powered site. Our solar and batteries satisfy our needs for everything else 😃

    Don’t feel bad Vicki- it happened to me too. The restrictions are very confusing. Just a quick question- What drone are you using? We really enjoy following your travels. Safe travels 😊

    • @happycampersaustralia
      @happycampersaustralia  6 месяцев назад

      We have a new drone, Mavic 3 Classic. Our old Mavic Pro died a few months ago. We made a RUclips about it late last year if you want to see why we decided on that one. 👍

    I feel your pain no discretion mentality exists there with these people even when you are honest, we got stung as well and forgot a small punnet of tomato’s in the bottom of the fridge after handing everything to a couple going the opposite direction to qld for the same reason, they take a while to get organised 4 months later a $440 present.
    I understand how you felt

      Oh no! Read my previous comment about getting caught with a punnet of tomatoes. That was 3 months ago and I thought it was all over and no fine to be issued then I read your comment about it taking 4 months to get your fine. Looks like I might be getting a "nice surprise" in the next month or so😢

    Do you have an annexe that you ever use?

    • @happycampersaustralia
      @happycampersaustralia  Месяц назад

      Sorry, thought I had replied to this. No, we don’t have an annexe, we don’t need one. They are very heavy and it makes set up more complicated. We prefer a simple set up 😃

    Hope you don't get a fine, your explanation sounds very feasible to me. The fact that you are on the road full time surely should account for not being on top of rule changes. Good luck.
