She defied expectations managed to survive against several of Gendo's obstacles up to including his own versions of the Wunder and a demented EVA and faced a literal physical goddess meant to collect all organic souls and slammed into it to deliver Sinji the key he needed to defeat the impacts and Gendo.
She had the best ending. Dying a hero and giving Gendo the middle finger.
