Basically, hypno couldn’t get into gf’s head in the first first due to her being too resistant and dumb, so he transports all of his psychic energy into his mind, which is why his body goes completely limp, and to make his hypnotic abilities more stronger to get through gf tiny little brain. Basically hypno said “this is big brain time”

Probably the first FNF mod that actually scared me, especially Gold. Banbuds's art style is awesome. I also love the fact that you play as GF, even though she looks drunk lol.
One thing I wanna point out in Monochrome is that when the Shiny Celebi pops up, it displays music notes meaning that it is playing Perish Song; Credit to Banbuds and everyone involved in the mod for having references to the original creepypastas Edit: Thank you to Love Crisis for pointing out that Perish Song also makes the bar change, I had to rewatch to even see it for myself
Ok while there is SO much to say about this mod, I just wanna point out how in the first song, Hypno's pendulum is constantly swinging. Like, no matter what pose he's doing, it's swinging as if he were in his idle state, unchanged. It's honestly quite mesmerizing, which I guess is the point.
Something sort of clever about this mod is the fact that it’s canon that girlfriend is hypnotized and taken by hypno after the 2nd song, but only during that song is the pendulum in the middle visible. Since the song has a much more intense beat to it, the song basically forces you to look straight at it in order to keep the beat of the song synced with your space bar pressing. So in other words if we want to win against hypno, we have to be hypnotized ourselves
If you watch the pendulum, Flippy stops doing the spacebar beat almost entirely during GF's turn to not get any misses and because you can still survive. Looks like someone is going to have a bad time in hell mode c:

I did not expect the Hypno mod to be so goddamn good. Or so goddamn terrifying. Despite how many FNF mods I've seen now, I manage to be impressed by the things modders can put out.
This mod is incredible!! A few mods now have tried to be scary with jumpscares and what not, but this is the only mod that has ever creeped me out a little. I don't know how, but Monochrome actually was able to pull off creepiness.
The fear of the unknown and good body horror, no blood or theatrics. Horror is ruined by trying to be scary, ironically. That's why the 2nd hypno song is a bop but it's not as creepy as the first song or monochrome.
I think it’s something about the presentation of Monochrome. Gold is directly facing the player, completely still in his idle animation, Boyfriend isn’t visible and the sprites are genuinely unnerving
Good body horror makes any one creeped. Just the way homeboy just... stares at you. Then drastically starts stretching his face in terrifying ways. Also when he says "I'M DEAD" and the tone he says it in... He sounds like he's really sad and when you think about it, his story is a pretty tragic one. Clearly he was a happy, young trainer who met his untimely demise, knowing his Pokemon, Mom, Rival, and everyone else who cared about him won't be able to know what happened to him or see him again. Now that's creepy.
Everyone's talking about how much Gold scared them, and I can see why, but to me Hypno is so much worse. Singing with a clear voice like the Lemon Demon in his first song is bad enough, but everything about the second song is like an acid trip in the uncanny valley because everything about it is plain _wrong._ Monochrome is creepy, but more sad than anything. Here's Gold, someone we played as, inserted ourselves into and went on adventures with, and he's reduced to a tortured husk of his former self. The Celebi and Unown are remnants from a life violently torn from him, and he remembers that. His singing sounds like he's on the verge of sobbing, and his random jumpscares sound like he's screaming in pain. Disclaimer: if I sound harsh, I actually really love the music in this mod, dread-inducing as it is.

This mod truly feels like a love letter to pokemon creepypastas and as someone who grew up on these and was very invested with them in particular, everything about this mod screams care and love for the same stuff I care and love
You know, just a thought: The *canon* incident of Hypno taking a child out to the forest (which was what inspired the creepypasta Hypno’s Lullaby) was probably much more wholesome than depicted. I mean, think about it. In real life there have been incidents of gorillas “kidnapping” kids because they’re lonely bastards and didn’t know any better, whereas Hypno look somewhat similar in stature to gorillas, so maybe in the Pokemon world it’s a similar premise. Ok, and I know what you’re thinking: And I haven’t gone through any of Hypno’s other Pokédex entires to check, but just because it’s a Psychic type doesn’t mean it’s smart. (Side note: Besides I feel like some kids would be stupid enough to follow a random Hypno into the middle of nowhere even without the use of hypnosis, since when you ignore some of the other features (i.e. literally everything depicted about Hypno here) it kind of bears a resemblance to what you would normally see in a kid’s mascot. Come on, Hypno wouldn’t feel out of place as a Muppet or a Sesame Street character, you gotta admit that.) (Edit: Especially considering the fact that this is Pokemon we’re talking about, and… well I know what that sounds like but just bear with me guys.)

(My first thought when I read the entry was an inexperienced hypno was practicing its powers near a human town and accidentally hypnotized a kid. Because I like to add silliness to my ideas the hypno got scolded by a more experienced hypno for using its powers near a human town and the kid was returned unharmed).

I don't see why people think Gf's demon powers make her super strong compared to what bf is going against. I think there are some people whoa re clearly more powerful than her. Especially the type that can pull bf into another realm, idk about you but demons mytho-wise generally can't do that shit.

I love all of the little details like how missingno's down sprite is it's yellow version variant or big M. Not to mention the fossils and the ghost which are also things it can appear as (based on your name) it's just that the down one is a bit more subtle and easy to miss.
Wasn't expecting a reference to one of my favorite creepypastas of all time in this mod. The creators did an awesome job. The attention to detail with Hypno's pendulum constantly moving and the infamous Ghost Hand in the first song, Lost Silver and the Shiny Celebi behind him using Perish Song to affect the health bar. the Unown spelling out random phrases (some of which are very funny), and fucking MissingNo. Can't wait to see more like this.

The only problem i can see are the mewtwo and mew, all extremely powerful since 1st gen psychic is busted and theres no dark types / good bug types.
It's crazy how many mechanics were put in this mod. Like the hypnosis thing. The pendulum. The Perish song depleting your health bar itself. The Unown typing. Missingno appearing, and of course missingno glitching the arrows. Oh and hypnos 2nd phase icon moving

@@thatdemoninthecar basically: there is a glitch in pokemon red/blue that allows you to surf in the sort of “cliff” that separates the land and water. You can encounter wills pokemon there, and that’s one of the many ways you can encounter Missingno. I think this is the most famous tho.

I don't think I've seen any other mod where another character sings lyrics aside from Monster in the base game, and Neo Monster from the Neo mod. Overall, this is very impressive. Edit: ok so it turns out I've been living under a rock, but I can't be blamed since I don't binge watch on ALL of the FNF mods. I did listen to those who listed the lyrical music, which most of them are decent bangers.
There are VERY few examples indeed, One for example is Sonic.EXE saying "I'm gonna get you! HA HA HA! I AM GOD!" But yeah it's usually Monster in some capacity that sings lyrics. All the Re-Mix mods are just twists on Monster as a whole, So yeah saying only Monster is a perfectly fine example xD

The hell mode of this mod has some changes I'll list them Lullaby Week: hypnos pendent is faster Monochrome: it now stacks, the unknown text, perish song mechanics and hypno's pendent too (If you didnt know everytime the half Celebi appears and uses Perish song your health takes a cut) Missingno: The unknown text returns, and missingno will glitch your note harder than before When I was doing the hell mode I was able to beat hell hypno and missingno but not lost silver due to the addition of the pendent
Long story short: Guy got free pokeman game The save file was op And everytime a new room loaded up gold's badge collection sprite had things like Lost arms Legs And then invisible And gon

This is absolutely AMAZING! I love the amount of quality in this Mod, Hypno is quite the scary Pokemon, And the mechanics with all 3 Opponents were really great! ^_^ As for the Story, I assume Boyfriend went out too Rap Battle some peeps, Came across a dude selling a game, Checked it out and got pulled in too face Silver, After that he got sent further in too the game to face Missingno, "Typical Boyfriend stuff" and of course he prevails against both of them. Girlfriend on the other hand is out looking for Boyfriend, One of the few times they aren't together, She comes across Hypno, Using his psychic powers he read her mind that she was looking for Boyfriend, So he was telling her too come with him and he'll bring her too Boyfriend. "Obviously not true though since Boyfriend is in a Game atm" So they have a face off, I guess it's kind of a Rap Battle between the two, But it's mostly just Girlfriend resisting Hypno's power for both songs, At the end of the 2nd song it seems it overpowered her and we don't see what else happens. But my little head canon for this, Is that by controlling her mind, He ended up making her pull out her Demon Form by instinct and just completely obliterated/eviscerated him off-screen. A bloody pool on the floor is all that remains of the Hypno, And a blood covered Girlfriend in a trance stands over his remains. Still a extremely spooky/scary ending. But obviously we know Girlfriend would never truly lose too a freaking Hypno. So this is way more likely of a ending. Heck she could still be in the trance after-wards and Boyfriend has too go face her in a Rap Battle too get her out of it later. "Before she goes around killing other peoples :P" But I admit that THIS part is probably unlikely lmao, After she kills the Hypno she's probably back too her normal dumb-ass self. That would make more sense.

Nah, Girlfriend might be in the Nightmare already. It's not his pile of blood, but from previous people Hypno met. BF actually might have bought this cartridge from stranger and got Lost Silver, and being dragged into it to face Gold, now challenging him. Also, I don't think that after Gold he is getting to MissingNo, because it's separate games and cartridges, Boyfriend might have just tried to check the glitch with it.
I'm not even a big fan of fnf, but I am in fully support of more mods styled around this nostalgia shit. I loved those early 2010s randomly gory pokemon creepypastas, they were my shit.
Monochrome and missingno are now two of my favourite FNF songs, and will sit in the hall of favourites alongside bushwhack, kaboom, as well as a lot of other songs I can’t remember right now.

This mod is incredible!! A few mods now have tried to be scary with jumpscares and what not, but this is the only mod that has ever creeped me out a little. I don't know how, but Monochrome actually was able to pull off creepiness.

The fear of the unknown and good body horror, no blood or theatrics. Horror is ruined by trying to be scary, ironically. That's why the 2nd hypno song is a bop but it's not as creepy as the first song or monochrome.

I think it’s something about the presentation of Monochrome. Gold is directly facing the player, completely still in his idle animation, Boyfriend isn’t visible and the sprites are genuinely unnerving
Good body horror makes any one creeped. Just the way homeboy just... stares at you. Then drastically starts stretching his face in terrifying ways.
Also when he says "I'M DEAD" and the tone he says it in... He sounds like he's really sad and when you think about it, his story is a pretty tragic one. Clearly he was a happy, young trainer who met his untimely demise, knowing his Pokemon, Mom, Rival, and everyone else who cared about him won't be able to know what happened to him or see him again.
Now that's creepy.
Everyone's talking about how much Gold scared them, and I can see why, but to me Hypno is so much worse. Singing with a clear voice like the Lemon Demon in his first song is bad enough, but everything about the second song is like an acid trip in the uncanny valley because everything about it is plain _wrong._
Monochrome is creepy, but more sad than anything. Here's Gold, someone we played as, inserted ourselves into and went on adventures with, and he's reduced to a tortured husk of his former self. The Celebi and Unown are remnants from a life violently torn from him, and he remembers that. His singing sounds like he's on the verge of sobbing, and his random jumpscares sound like he's screaming in pain.
Disclaimer: if I sound harsh, I actually really love the music in this mod, dread-inducing as it is.

You know, just a thought:
The *canon* incident of Hypno taking a child out to the forest (which was what inspired the creepypasta Hypno’s Lullaby) was probably much more wholesome than depicted.
I mean, think about it. In real life there have been incidents of gorillas “kidnapping” kids because they’re lonely bastards and didn’t know any better, whereas Hypno look somewhat similar in stature to gorillas, so maybe in the Pokemon world it’s a similar premise.
Ok, and I know what you’re thinking: And I haven’t gone through any of Hypno’s other Pokédex entires to check, but just because it’s a Psychic type doesn’t mean it’s smart.
(Side note: Besides I feel like some kids would be stupid enough to follow a random Hypno into the middle of nowhere even without the use of hypnosis, since when you ignore some of the other features (i.e. literally everything depicted about Hypno here) it kind of bears a resemblance to what you would normally see in a kid’s mascot. Come on, Hypno wouldn’t feel out of place as a Muppet or a Sesame Street character, you gotta admit that.)

I love all of the little details like how missingno's down sprite is it's yellow version variant or big M.
Not to mention the fossils and the ghost which are also things it can appear as (based on your name) it's just that the down one is a bit more subtle and easy to miss.

The attention to detail with Hypno's pendulum constantly moving and the infamous Ghost Hand in the first song, Lost Silver and the Shiny Celebi behind him using Perish Song to affect the health bar. the Unown spelling out random phrases (some of which are very funny), and fucking MissingNo. Can't wait to see more like this.

@@thatdemoninthecar basically: there is a glitch in pokemon red/blue that allows you to surf in the sort of “cliff” that separates the land and water. You can encounter wills pokemon there, and that’s one of the many ways you can encounter Missingno. I think this is the most famous tho.
I remember when I first got the game, my brother told me that I could get a cool legendary by doing it, and instead I bricked my 94% completion save...because I caught it.

Monochrome: it now stacks, the unknown text, perish song mechanics and hypno's pendent too

This is absolutely AMAZING! I love the amount of quality in this Mod, Hypno is quite the scary Pokemon, And the mechanics with all 3 Opponents were really great! ^_^
As for the Story, I assume Boyfriend went out too Rap Battle some peeps, Came across a dude selling a game, Checked it out and got pulled in too face Silver, After that he got sent further in too the game to face Missingno, "Typical Boyfriend stuff" and of course he prevails against both of them.
Girlfriend on the other hand is out looking for Boyfriend, One of the few times they aren't together, She comes across Hypno, Using his psychic powers he read her mind that she was looking for Boyfriend, So he was telling her too come with him and he'll bring her too Boyfriend. "Obviously not true though since Boyfriend is in a Game atm"
So they have a face off, I guess it's kind of a Rap Battle between the two, But it's mostly just Girlfriend resisting Hypno's power for both songs, At the end of the 2nd song it seems it overpowered her and we don't see what else happens.
But my little head canon for this, Is that by controlling her mind, He ended up making her pull out her Demon Form by instinct and just completely obliterated/eviscerated him off-screen. A bloody pool on the floor is all that remains of the Hypno, And a blood covered Girlfriend in a trance stands over his remains.
Still a extremely spooky/scary ending. But obviously we know Girlfriend would never truly lose too a freaking Hypno. So this is way more likely of a ending.
Heck she could still be in the trance after-wards and Boyfriend has too go face her in a Rap Battle too get her out of it later. "Before she goes around killing other peoples :P" But I admit that THIS part is probably unlikely lmao, After she kills the Hypno she's probably back too her normal dumb-ass self. That would make more sense.
I think she would do what she did in Tricky and teleport hypno away.

BF actually might have bought this cartridge from stranger and got Lost Silver, and being dragged into it to face Gold, now challenging him.
Also, I don't think that after Gold he is getting to MissingNo, because it's separate games and cartridges, Boyfriend might have just tried to check the glitch with it.
I'm not even a big fan of fnf, but I am in fully support of more mods styled around this nostalgia shit. I loved those early 2010s randomly gory pokemon creepypastas, they were my shit.
