Deathwatch was definitely one of the most interesting factions. I have no Idea why most factions exist but Deathwatch had a clear reason for being.
GW writinf bad rules for them is not a logical reason to retcon the army out of existence.

Deathwatch was different and Cool. I Re-Started playing 40k In Mai or so, after a long streak of Bolt Action... and It was cool, but alot of people in my local Game Store play Space Marines. Every Army had the same troops. Eradicators (I implemented them myself), a Redemptor, Hellblasters, Aggressors with an Apothecary, Termniators + Chaplain and so on. Sure here and there they did different things.
My Stuff was different. Just saying it felt bland playing against the same same Armies over and over again.
Sure some brought their Necros and Tau too.... but, yeah... I like fresh stuff.
I think GW was unwilling to really Give DW the Love they Initially put in the DW when they launched.
It felt like a labour of love.

No, but Deathwatch being retconned out of existence is a logical reason for GW writing them bad rules.

While I am irritated that DW is getting the 'Harlequin treatment', I can think of at least one valid rationale for it. Kill Team Cassius, as awesome a thing as they were, kinda pushed the watch down a path that doesn't really work in GWs crusade to dumb the game down. A mixed unit squad, just becomes harder and harder to simplify. Thus, Deathwatch get busted back to where they started, and hopefully revisted with a newer direction?

Well, I do understand that completely from a Gaming STandpoint. Was was gone for a while in 40k, and when I picked it back up in 10th with the DW it was hard. Shooting took ages... but I was willing to learn and play quicker. But the Dumbing down hit alot of stoff.... When I started in 8th I found it a bit complicated to understand all the different weapons profiles of 40k... BUT I tell you one thing... It made the Game RICHER.
I play Bolt ACtion lately, and I would not call the Game Streamlined... It just is simpler. A Rifle, an SMG, Assault Rifles...Anti Tank Guns, Autocannons, MMG, LMGS....Mortars, Howitzers... thats almost it.
No Reroll Millions of Dice, and It plays better.
So I am kinda Mad and GW, but I also create Comics, Games and Content, so I do truly understand the need to streamline or make it more accesible.
We Will see what happens. I will find a way to play them and will keep you up-to date.

@dariostabletopminatures To help put it into perspective a bit, Deathwatch started as a rule set found in an old issue of white dwarf. The venerable and original "Chaper Approved" rules. Primarily taken as an HQ option for any marine or imp guard army. So the new codex puts them kinda back to that point. I just hope, that they regain something akin to the original specialist ammo rule.

Nah. Death Watch are still a thing.
They are just bck in the Inquisition book, where they began.
They have been Space Marines with bonus units since always.
The way you pick up the bonus units has changed, but you can still paint black Space Marines with silver arms, pick up the specalist units, and call 'em Death Watch.
You've just gained the flexibility of the core SM book - or even using other SM sub factions!

What is your source for this news? You ramble on and on about GW retiring the subfaction and some models... I've just made multiple Google searches and have found no backing evidence whatsoever for these claims.
If you make a video with a clickbait title like the one above (and, of course, all in caps...), the very least you can do is mention where that so-called information comes from.
Your video makes no sense whatsoever:
    - Deathwatch received a full update in June 2024's Balance Dataslate
    - Deathwatch points were updated in June 2024's Field Munitorum

They've moved Deathwatch from being random special units in Space Marines, to being random special units in Imperial Agents (ie. Inquisitors - where they started).
Just make a Space Marine army, & take the Deathwatch units from Agents. Nothing has been lost, but extra flexibility has been gained.
