I love it. After shattering tiles on a manual cutter this looks like a big improvement. I'm going to have to redo my entire kitchen, living room and hallway in ceramic tile after I properly level the slab.
If you haven't already you can order the R40211CN (current model, nearly the same as this) with stand for $250 after tax. How do I know? Just bought one last month!
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Had this machine for about 2 years not to happy with it I did 2 floors in my house worked fine for the floors because I was able to hide my cuts with the base boards but it does chip quite a bit and breaks the corners of tile at end of cut Started a bathroom conversion from from tub to shower I think I'm going to give the overhead rigid a try instead see how that one works out its on sale for 309.00 hopefully it does way better than this model plus the table moves on the overhead one I'll be finding out soon going to home depot tomorrow to pick one up
I just purchased this saw a week ago. It still has the same issue with the tabletop damaging the finished side of the tile. Because the table does not slide you need a slippery surface to move the tile along into the blade. Also, I have gotten the little chip at the end of the cut, which requires pre-cutting or scoring the tile at that location before doing the full cut. The other issue with the saw is that for crosscuts > 10", you need to make two passes, with the first to cut the tile down enough so that it will fit on the table against the rip guide. It is not advisable to try to cut freehand - the tile will wander and the cut will not be straight.
I just won one of these at Auction NIB for $56.20 and will be tiling my whole house and maybe doing my neighbor's too when her husbands at work. lol The positive reviews out numbered the negative reviews. I was going to use my 14" Target Porta Saw with a thin tile blade that I use for pavers but felt that maybe doing tile I would need something a little more delicate to cut with. I wouldn't cut tile face down anyway because of possible breakout and if you have to do miter cuts there is always tape to put on the face if needed to avoid scratching the tile and on the cutting line.
too bad you didn't show the long side being cut. These lower end saws always get pinched at the 7 inch mark of the long side and chips the tile. But you didn't show that. Otherwise, great video.
Thanks for the vid. I'm interested in this saw and can't find many reviews on it. The removable overflow is only good if it doesn't leak while you're using it, 'cause you don't always have a dedicated table or stand for the saw. I'd rather the folding supports for the two angles also be aluminum, but altogether it looks like a decent unit. Thanks again!
MG-70 the basin drain plug will leak a little during a multi day project when you are draining it afterwards, some shavings break the seal. If you wipe the drain hole and gaskets on the plug well, it won’t leak
Just recieved for Xmas, 2nd time I used it the locking mechanism on the fence broke, cheap plastic. The kinda thing you would expect on a Harbor Freight tool at 1/2 the price or less, not from something Home Depot is selling at 257. Reminded me of why I switched to Dewalt a few years ago as Ridgids quality continues to decline in my opinion.
It would not cut all the way through, you would have a half inch or so that you would have to snap free. For pavers I use an angle grinder, saves money on blades. If you cut pavers with this saw, you will wear out the blades and have to clean dust sludge out of the water basin fairly often. You would also have to move a bit slower as the motor is meant for tile
Their universal stand should work. I usually work this saw on the ground though. www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Universal-Mobile-Miter-Saw-Stand-with-Mounting-Braces-AC9946/206992161?g_store=4640
Jim McCall I had the same problem hearing. It was better when I used earbuds. I bought this saw yesterday at 1/2 price but have not yet unboxed it. It's weird how the blade guard flexed and seemed to dance while cutting.

Thank You for the demo. It really helped me out.
Awesome. Exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.

Ok see I'm not the only one not having these problems. Shit is user error.

Thank you for the reply and tip. For some reason, I only received notification of your reply today, two months later.

Sorry that happened. The only issue ive had so far is the drain plug in the water basin leaks a little.
👍👍😊
Get a better diamond blade, push slower you get a perfect cut.
They just put these on sale for $99 for their sort of Black Friday sale
Thank you for the video
Assembled but the cutting wheel won't lock properly. It just hums no spin ...tried loosening...but it's not right. What am I doing wrong?!
That sounds pretty odd. Maybe the splash guard holder is rubbing against the blade? No matter how tight, the blade should spin. This may be a defect.
@@steveva7591 thanks for the quick reply. I'll try and again later today and let you know if I have any luck!!
Its a nice looking tile saw but it terrible on cutting it chips and dents tiles super bad i dont recommend this tile saw for high quality jobs at all👎
Thank you for let us know .
audio was really low and I had speaker turned all the way up
what???!!!
Think you can cut 2.5” pavers with this if you flip the paver and cut twice?
It would not cut all the way through, you would have a half inch or so that you would have to snap free. For pavers I use an angle grinder, saves money on blades. This one vs the porter cable? Which do you think is better in your opinion?
The PC 20v cordless 7 in saw? I haven't used it but for saws like this, I will take corded any day.
@@steveva7591 I ended up getting the porter cable 7inch saw,They had a corded version for about 15$ more on amazon so I went ahead and got it
Can you fit an 8 inch blade on it with some kind of altering if one wanted to???
I would not alter this saw. Risky
If You Change the blade can you use this saw to cut wood Laminate flooring?
This saw is not meant to cut wood, I believe the RPMs are too slow and you would get chipping on an wood or laminate cuts
I got the same saw and the same exact wedding ring 🤔
Someone noticed the guard moving like a worm ?
acer cam The guard will move if you press too hard against it. It is only secured at one point
Steve US I mean the effect of the sound in the camera !
The guard was vibrating but the camera's low fps could only pick it up at a slower rate....like a slow motion camera affect.
Yes it was sexy
will this cut stone?
Yes, but not thicker than 1.5" or so and slowly
Can you buy a stand for this or no?

Get the fuck out of here I just paid 279 going strait back after my job for a return 😆 oh how I live the hd tool return availability
Does it do bevel cuts straight all the way through?
Yes although you have to be careful how you slide the tile through, trying not to tip it
$99 this week
Just picked up one yesterday couldn’t turn that deal down
@@johnhender heck yeah, put a better diamond blade on it and it will pretty much do everything clean
129$ home depot

@@kappartier this helps only those in your area which you have failed to provide. So basically a useless comment.
Your audio level is so low, that I could barely hear you. You might want to make sure that it is properly set next time. Good review though, I think.
