I feel so sorry for everyone who were not blessed with the chance to hear the heavenly voices of the Righteous Brothers in real time. We Boomers got to hear fabulous singles, duos, trios, groups etc during the 60s and early 70s. I’m so sorry y’all, that you missed the Golden Age of music.

A couple other great songs they sing together are, You'll Never Walk Alone and Rock and Roll Heaven!

They had an early fun song written by Bill Medley, Little Latin Lupe Lu worth watching, with the gogo dancers and all. There are only two Righteous Brothers but they were a quadruple threat!!!!

Bill Medley is still touring at age 83. Bobby Hatfield passed away in 2003, a few months after they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I graduated high school in 1965...so PEAK teenager. After Righteous Bros, I got into Linda Ronstadt and Emmylouu Harris, etc. Are you surprised I never have adjusted to Rap/hip-hop? I like voices...and melody.

These guys were so awesome when they came out in 1964. I was in high school, and we couldn't get their 45's purchased to play on our record players. I have every vinyl record album in my collection. ❤❤❤

When you watch “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on the Ed Sullivan Show, watch Bill flinch at the end as Bobby lets it rip!

    Check out their rendition of
    “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
I think that you’ll enjoy it also.
Then there’s Bobby’s bluesy solo “Summertime”.

They also sang with Andy Williams on the same show Bobby Hatfield sang Unchained Melody. It's fun and shows what a great dancer Bobby was.

Your appreciation of this great duo is so gratifying! I suggested before that you look at a video clip of Night Time is the Right Time, which they sing with the Blossoms. ruclips.net/video/7wRA9tfEwLs/видео.htmlfeature=shared. this shows their love of R&B, and you can see a different side of their talents- especially Bobby,. They really get down with the blues, and Bill shows his debt to Ray Charles. Highly recommended! I’m going to see Bill in concert in October. He has re-formed the Righteous Brothers with a new partner, and they sing some of the RB songs, and other songs as well. Bill sings blues songs, and his Grammy winning I’ve had the Time of My Life. He’s 82 now and still going strong.

All videos. Bill did a solo at the Playboy Club in 68 doing Brown Eyed Woman with the Blossoms was incredible (family viewing). Another great performance and a video. Best success on yr channel

The Righteous Brothers had solo efforts by Bobby Hatfield "Summertime" and "I just want to make love to you" by Bill Medley. They also sang" Ebb Tide" and "You'll never walk alone". They got their band's band while playing a show in the deep south and after the performance someone shouted from the audience "man that was righteous brothers" and the name stuck.

It was a club in Santa Ana, Orange County, CA, and marines from the El Toro Marine base near Irvine.

    • @doloresschultz6804

Their name came from some Black Marine at El Toro, Marine air base, California. After their show, one or more Black Marines shouted, “That was righteous, brother!”
When Bobby told Andy Williams “down south”, he meant south of the recording studio, which was in Burbank. El toro was about an hour drive south. Both Bill and Bobby are from Anaheim, CA. (Think Disneyland.)

Songs my duo: Guess who, Bring it on home to me, Dream on, Justine, you’ll never walk alone. Bobby only: Somewhere, Summertime , My Prayer, only you, Stay with me baby. Let it be.
Other singers: Al Greene with How do you mend a broken heart, Percy Sledge - Ans to my prayer, Eric Clampton (great guitarist) and Pavarotti sing Holy Mother, Eric - Tears in Heaven, Linda Ronsteadt - Blue Bayou, Credence Clearwater- Rolling on the river, out my back door, Have you ever seen the rain . Jackie Wilson Tears (.), kd Lang Crying and The air that I breathe.
All great. But they’re not Bobby.

Don’t know if you saw these already or not…Check out their soul performances - Bobby Hatfield’s “Summertime”, Bill Medley’s “I Just Want To Make Love To You”. And The Righteous Brothers “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on the Ed Sullivan Show. Their debut song was “Little Latin Lupe Lu”. “Just Once In My Life” was another hit for them.

It occurred to me that you might be interested in seeing what Bill Medley is doing now. He’s been touring with a new partner, Bucky Heard, singing Righteous Brothers songs and they also do their own material. One song Bill frequently does is one he wrote, This Will be the Last Time. Here’s a video of a live performance of this with the great guitarist John Wedemeyer. ruclips.net/video/295lKluDSt0/видео.htmlfeature=shared You can see why Bill is now referred to as Legendary. I hope he sings this in his show in October. I’d love to see him do it!
