This really shows you that you can be anywhere in the world and enjoy a round of golf with people with different lifestyles/ backgrounds, etc. and become friends. That’s the beauty about golf
This video is seriously undernoticed, I've lived in LA most of my life and never knew a course was in Compton. Real Angeleno history here and those trees make it the real deal! Thanks!
thank you Erik and Skratch TV! i feel honored to be a part of this video and super special thanks to Erik and his guys for the heart warming RIP credits to our beloved and missed friend John may he rest in peace!
"whats your role here? are you like a mental coach?" *holding a beer* "I'm like a caddy that doesn't carry anything... except what he wants" *holds up beer*
Knowing that I watched this video the day it came out and here I am watching it again 6 years later really tells me 1 thing I have a golf addiction. I love you Erik and thank you for years of golf entertainment. You will probably never see this but you really did start the path for most RUclips golf channels
That´s real golf for all the people! It doesn´t matter how much money you got, just love the game. As a streetgolfer in Germany i life this way of golf!
My goal is to play every course in LA County, so I played here a week or so ago. The grass was in much better shape then when this video was shot, probably because of all the rain we had in LA since then. It was a fun course; some long holes for a par 3.
Wait. At 2:00 there is a 2016 Dog Days of Golf calendar in the shot.I have that same calendar on my desk, because I'm a Golf Course Superintendent's Association of America member. Does that mean the superintendent of the Compton Par 3 is a GCSAA member? Does the Compton Par 3 even have an actual superintendent? I have so many questions.
Matt Wagner I guess so, I know that pretty much all courses, no matter how terrible have a super. I am subbed to the GCSAAtv YT channel, I think it’s very helpful and the videos are fun to watch.
You lost a bit of credit wearing the tank top/jersey. Pencil arms? Sorry, just giving you a little Joe Biden Pope bathroom issue (crap), but I love watching your show. You and your crew do a fantastic job with these. I would call it The Grand Tour but about golf instead of cars. Always love the small courses. The Monte beer delivery vehicle was awesome!
Thanks to all the friends I've met and played with at Compton. Willie.....thanks my brother :-) Clyde, John, Cess, Skinner, Paul, Shawn, Robert, Pablo, Joey Simplot.....etc. You've made my life better.
Glad you had a fun and positive experience there. I feel like the choice of b-roll shots at the beginning were meant to mock(make it look bad) Compton but everyone in the end was able to see it was a good time for you
The man Erik was interviewing, I think his name was Willie Forge, who was the one who originally started and created the course, he definitely does not have the accent of a person from Southern California Lol! I mean from what he was saying it sounds like he’s lived there for years and years because he was talking about when he planted the trees in the course and now they are big full grown trees, but man he doesn’t sound like the typical Southern Californian. He sounds like he’s from the southeastern U.S. like maybe Georgia or Alabama.
that's how the game should be! where i live (germany), unfortunately golf is still seen as a sport only for "rich". i really like it, that there are course accessible to everyone in the US
You definitely need to hit the Pico Rivera golf course in Pico Rivera, California. The amount of insane stories and characters that play at that course is unreal
that guy driving his car on the course to bring beer was the best thing ever
Patrick seriously
Yes, yes it is
👍🏼😆👍🏼
That’s a Norma day in Georgia.(yes I know Compton is in California. I just telling you how Georgia works.)
👍

Would rather play here than some of the snobby courses I've been to.
Christian Tomyn Ever been to Snobby Shores?
If I have to tuck in my shirt why the fuck am I going is my motto now. Forgive me for being a millennial.
100% and I've been to a few
Dude, I wish every course had an old guy that would drive out in a Buick to deliver you a beer.
Cart girls are overrated
It was a chevy but yeah o get out point
@@jacksonlauter It would have been funnier if it was a Buick, Buicks are cars for old men😂

Player: no thanks I’ll use my car.
This looks like a shit load of fun to be completely honest
What the guy said at the end about golfing and friends is so true.
R.I.P Mr. Dawson, glad I got to see you!
This is my favorite adventures in golf episode.
One of the most wholesome golf vids out there.
This is awesome. I call this "real people golf." My type of joint.
Love this!
anybody know the song name?
GA Hay .... did you ever find out?
As an avid golfer I enjoy meeting real people. No plastic people there. Really enjoyed it.
This channel is so underrated you should have way more subs , nice work.
This makes me want to move to Compton
Love this guy, found him on RUclips and have been watching for the last week.... taking the snobbism out of golf, keep it up man!!!!
"Moral of the story, golfing and friends are the best thing in the world!" Well said my friend! Great content Erik, keep it up!!!
No offense, but you do need money to golf. I doubt you'll find a course in a main city or near a city that is less than $30 with a cart.
Looks like Pau Gasol😂
Played there. Not the best but that is not the reason I go there.
This is incredible video what have you been all my life this is amazing. So good you have another fans so cool.
@ 4:52 I'm thinkin Drive-By 😳

That may not have been what they were going for, but possibly more along the longs the lines of showing that this isn't a conventional spot for golf
This video is awesome

Golf is a good sport to make some good friends.
Drives car on course😂😂
That's where I learned to play golf. South LA represent. Been away from home for 16 years now. Would love to come home and play a round.

You will never find a better friend than one that you meet golfing or golfs with you. Everybody no matter how skilled respects the GAME!
You should play this golf course in Southern California near Menifee it’s made in a quarry and it’s amazing.
I am dying to play there...

A total antidote to the country club silver spoon mob.Just normal people enjoying the game .Love it.
Fuuuck I would love to place this course, what a great atmosphere this place is.
Drive by golf. LOL
owner of the golf course sounds a little bit like dusty rhodes.
I actually really like that bag
I love Compton golf course, used to play there with my dad every week
Well if Serena and Venus Williams can learn to play tennis in Compton, maybe a future golf star may be out there.
I have one of those blue drivers in my garage, along with a shit ton of other random ass old clubs.
Only gave the man 5 bucks? Should have at least thrown him like 20
I love this so much
