aoe cap would be fine if they were tuned to compensate on e.g. 8 targets (like 25+% more dam than uncapped specs). the problem is they arent even that good on lower target counts compared to some uncapped specs
AoE Caps are the dumbest thing I've ever heard in WoW. It would be like putting a damage mitigation cap on half of the tank specs. It needs to be removed.
Aug, mage and SP being absolute meta for so long is really strange. Why would blizzard ignore the issue and lose m+ players? Also situation with vengance DH. What is their motive for that? It does not make sense.
How hard can it be to make all the specs closer to each other ? Nerf dh utility to the ground. Buff all underperforming dps specs. But ye lets nerf bw monk and buff destro lock instead. What are they smoking at the balancing team ?
Rather see them grant VDH utility to the other tanks rather than nerfing VDH. Either that or design dungeons to be doable without infinity stops. Destroying VDH utility would make the current (and potentially future) dungeon pools significantly less fun and increasingly more tedious. Having tanks be at parity with one another is probably one of the most important aspects of balancing M+. VDH being so incredibly dominant effectively removes havoc from any reasonably competitive comp; in fact, having raid buffs at all makes balancing impossible. If any two ranged magic dps specs are strong at any point in time the meta instantly becomes DH + them whether it's veng or havoc. Chaos brand is by far the most impactful raid buff in the game. In short they should bring back buff scrolls (make them only useable in 5 man's or whatever, who cares) and grant tanks the level of dungeon utility they require to make them viable. Also, as a side note, "simply balance it bro" is a lot harder than it sounds in the context of an asymmetric MMO like WoW - it's an unenviable job and someone's got to be at the bottom of the totem pole at all times. It's just how it works.
Makes you wonder if they are not purposefully doing it, make me remember the old days of the developer that was doing everything in his power to keep the Paladin class to be good in other roles than Healing. DH should be deleted from the game at this point. This class has been a joke this it came out in Legion.
I don't know if you legit don't realize this or just ignored it to be edgy, but the Feral Druid/Elemental Shaman thing of being shit for multiple expansions and not played has nothing to do with their actual DPS and everything to do with the fact that there's already Mark of the Wild coming from some other Druid spec, either Restoration or Balance, usually, so, to justify taking a Feral Druid when the melee slots are already stuffed as hell in raids most of the time, it would have to be the best DPS in the game. The problem with Elemental is similar. It's a squishy spellcaster that doesn't have any raid utility. After you fill in raid buffs, you have like 5-ish free slots, less when Warlocks/PIs/Immunities make the fight easier. For Elemental Shaman to get one of them... it would have to do significantly more damage than every class in the game. TL;DR: Doesn't have anything to do with tuning, everything to do that they just bring damage in Shamans' case and the unlikeliness of finding yourself without another Druid that fits raiding comps better.
@IZEN If Combat Rez was the sole reason for Resto Druid's dominance, then where are the Holy Paladins hmm? All Paladins have a Combat Rez as well, and it's even one of the easier to cast versions similar to Druid's B-Rez. Resto Druid is just over-tuned ATM, plus they can do important Tech that other Healers can't such as chain-Rooting the adds on the first Boss in Nokhud. That and Holy Paladin does terrible damage ATM, strong burst-Healing and Disease-Dispels are about the only thing Holy is strong at currently. So what it boils down to is: Do you want want MotW and a strong high-damage Healer who has nearly-required Utility, or do you want Devotion Aura. Better to just bring a Ret with the Leggo Axe if you're really hurting for Devotion Aura. Blizzard purposefully balances Classes in cycles though for the most part. Currently it's Ret's turn to be good and Holy's turn to suck, but in TWW it's looking like in Season 1 Ret will be more mediocre and Herald of the Sun Holy will be one of the top Healers. God Comp is an issue though. Blizzard went and created the PVE version of PVP's "RMP" Comp. The combo of Aug+Mage+Priest is inherently overpowered, and Blizzard has Designed themselves into a corner by creating this situation. Blizzard's solution for Season 1 of TWW will likely be to just Tune Aug to be crappy, but long-term they need to do something drastic or Aug+Mage+Priest will dominate High-Keys for the foreseeable future.
Same Problem as every expansion. Shadowland wasnt better especially at the end. And it will not get fixed as long you can buff ppl with massive externals like PI. In Shadowlands was it even worse thanks to the Nightfae shadowpriests.
I think they need to homogenize utility in some way. I main fire mage and the sheer number of options I have is insane. But it’s really fun to have this kind of depth in my kit. Give the other classes interesting defensives and maybe an external so they can also contribute more than damage. And then we can buff fire damage cuz it’s really really bad. Even in prio damage build and with pi I’m barely ahead of shadow priest on single target and do literally half their damage in aoe.
In 5 man content resto Druid has by far the best throughput. It also has good damage and a brez. Once monk was nerfed and pally feel out of meta and warlock isn’t in resto Druid is only play. Other healers are competitive from a throughput perspective, in particular monk and holy/disc priest but your comp needs the brez so it’s gg.
There’s like 100 of us total running keys this season it’s great
I'm playing panda lol haven't logged in to retail
This is false, there were more than 30 10+ keys on LFG outside of peak time yesterday. Don't perpetuate an un-true statement.
@@erikwestbrook7789 that’s the day before reset. Measure any other day
I find groups instantly any time of the day during the week. Seems to be loads of ppl playing.
@@erikwestbrook7789 shut up nerd
m+ meta is now experiencing the same problems pvp had with rmp for years. Good luck getting rid of it.
first!
“Why does this even matter Tuesday“.
This man has my depression beat 😂
“The only reason resto Druid is meta is because of brez.” Are we just forgetting that motw exists?
Yeah but it's also cus the meta comp is Aug spriest mage and dh.
Hpala is awful, so druid takes it
That’s just a nice addition but brezz is what gives its spot.
Make Melee Great Again 😢All of DF has been a ranged expansion. Time to let Melee shine in TWW... Please...
AOE cap on outlaw is sus
AOE caps in general are sus. Blizzard always ruining any fun smells.

Has Blizzard ever made sense, it's been 20 years and they still can't balance their game
They are too lazy and are focused on TWW. Everyone knew Season 4 would be an "Ignore" season.
