It's funny to think ,"weird belief that Asperger's victims are stealing the spotlight from people with autism" is low on the list of Chris Chan's bad qualities
To this day I have no idea why Chris was so mad at Dr. Hans Asperger for naming the neurological disorder after himself. Chris seems to have no grasp on “oh it’s just his actual last name” but rather he thinks the doctor deliberately called it “Ass Burger” or “Ass Booger” just to spite someone he never met and even passed away TWO YEARS BEFORE his birth.
Technically Hans Asperger didn’t name it after himself. He described it as autistic psychopathy. In 1981 Lorna Wing published a paper that described what Hans had found as Asperger’s syndrome.
In the last few years, a growing body of evidence has shown that Hans Asperger was a really bad Nazi, pretty much overturning the previous view which had assumed he'd tried to be something of a small-scale Schindler-type figure. Asperger was also sometimes portrayed as the "good" researcher, against Kanner the "bad" researcher. Actually they both seem like shady characters. Anyway, much of the autistic community has rejected the "Asperger" terminology in part for the reason that he was a Nazi. Moreover, the psychiatry community and the autistic community have also both partially converged in reaching majority opinions against the terminology of "Asperger's Syndrome." This was partly for similar reasons, and partly for different reasons. There was always some inconsistency on whether Asperger's was supposed to be a subtype of autism, an alternative to autism, or what. And the Asperger's vs. (other) autism dichotomy, closely related to the high-functioning vs. low-functioning dichotomy, seems wedded to a bimodal statistical clustering model of autism-- and this appears inaccurate, given how the various dimensions of the autism spectrum come apart from one another and do NOT appear to cluster around two points in the manner predicted by many dichotomies. (This is not to say that all autism is the same, or has the same level of problems, but only that the Asperger's/high-functioning vs. other/low-functioning dichotomies appear to be inaccurate for various reasons, which is a kind of sloppiness that leads to harm.) But this is a complicated issue, and I think relatively few people have really good takes on it (I don't either, frankly), and I very much doubt that Chris-Chan has a good take. Given how unreliable she is (to put it mildly), I would frankly doubt that she has a nuanced or accurate understanding of the issue. So I have no idea why she dislikes Asperger, and I don't know if it's due to the Nazi thing or some dumber thing or what.
Chris has always been capable of entertaining people and being the center of attention. If he had different parents or any specific bad behaviors were stopped early on I genuinely believe he'd be in the same categories as the top channel awesome people if not higher. I can see him in that alternate universe now, on a podcast or stream talking about the new Sonic stuff with a serious unironic fanbase.
As a dude on the spectrum, I can say for a fact that if a kid with autism does NOT have good parents, the kid will turn into a total man-baby. Autism is a neurologic disorder that affects the brain, ranging from a lack of understanding of social cues, general proccing of the world, obsession over a thing and people, physical and mental health problems, and other brain disorders such as ADAD ADD. In my case, I lucked out with being on the spectrum and not having any issues; if anything, people love me for my autistic charm. The determining factor for me being not like Chris is I have two kick-ass parents who pushed me but understood that I am on the spectrum. Thanks to them and so many others, I live in this world better than most people can. I would say Chris and I are at the same level of being on the spectrum, but I had WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better parents.

Actually, Hans Asperger used the term to further eugenics and was a nazi. He wanted to make certain autistics seem like model citizens and grouped them into the category of Aspergers or "high-functioning autism." Clearly, with autism being a spectrum, it isn't ideal anymore to deem autistics who hyperfocus on work or sciences as the only good ones, as it leaves out even those who would be considered "high-functioning" because they aren't excelling in certain studies. Chris slapping a nazi is probably the smartest thing he's done.
