Like many Nigerians and Africans, I was raised with lies about who we are as a people, who my ancestors were, and who the colonial imperialists were. We were taught to exalt the people who robbed us of our identity and lord our long-time oppressors. But right now, we know the truth and we will reclaim our place.
Thank you so much Vector and MI Abaga for this beautiful and powerful music that speaks directly to the soul. I really hope that the lyrics of this song charge us to start asking the right questions (like, who the f*ck is Mungo Park), and demand the decolonisation of all aspects of our systems. From education to media, and from religion to leadership. We need to change!
    I'm Afrikan; I'm blessed.
    Àse 🙌🏽

Actually shivered while listening to this... my goodness. Mother of divinity! What a masterpiece. The transition from M to Vec in the beginning, the depth of the message, the wordplay, Pheelz chorus, the Omen-esque chant and the beat... Good Lord. I just clicked expecting something regular, this turned out to be a movement. Such quality. Sigh. One more time...going in.
