I’m glad you finally got your Murphy bed! I’m only a couple minutes in, but I needed to comment about the smells in your basement. If you’re on a septic, the winters can make it smell in the basement due to a blocked vent stack. Snow/ice is usually the culprit and it forces gases back in to the house. Look for a pipe that sticks up out of your roof. We had to screen ours so leaves didn’t clog it, and in heavy snow my hubby actually gets up there to clean the pipes off! If you’re on sewer, then the problem is probably the not so used bathroom you have down there. The floor drain can become dried out and cause the stench. Try running the water and some cleaner through the pipes every couple of weeks in winter and it will immensely help……..ok, p.s. love the room❤️

@@DeniseBangiyev you’re welcome! Hopefully it’s an easy fix. Just run that water in that bathroom and flush the toilet every so often. Old homes have their quirks.
The same thing happens in my basement if I don’t run water down the shower and sink drains. We don’t use that bathroom very often at all so we just run the faucets quick when we do the weekly vacuum down there.

Denise lovebthe room, ive always wanted a Murphy bed but my my daughter is grown and married now so I'll never get one but I totally like the way you came out really pretty. I remember you having those blackout curtains up in the living room if I'm not mistaken, they make a big difference when you're trying to sleep. So good seeing all of you guys.

Denise are you able to get creative with that Murphy bed and add a collapsable desk to the face plate when it’s up? The desk folds in when it’s down? Just curious. Would save a lot of hassle with having to move a desk and chair every time you need the room for company. Might not be doable but just a thought. Drawback of course is staring at the faceplate while working there. 😬

Love the new room, we put together a Murphy bed with cabinets on each side! What…a…bear!!! We moved and didn’t have the heart to take it apart. We too have an odor coming from our bathroom, I’m curious if you know what caused the odor for you? Don’t even know who to call about it.

We have a house built in 1972 that had a funky smell in our basement. It ended up being the top part of our galvanized pipes. The tops of them were corroded which you couldn't see unless you got on a ladder. We changed everything to PVC and the smell went away. The bed looks great. The kids are adorable.

What Murphy bed did you get from Wayfair? Almost bit the bullet and got one but the reviews of how heavy the boxes and/modifications needed made me pause for a few weeks.
I did! I just linked it. It’s HEAVY but we didn’t have any problems with assembly.
