Regarding the left / right source @2:48. It's indeed an optional cross feed. For signals appearing in the middle or are de-correlated, e.g. pad sounds, it doesn't do so much. But if your input is panned hard left or right, the 1st Reflection will appear on the other side, if you dial in "R L" instead of "L R".
