‘Bit of a shocker’: Market wasn’t expecting latest inflation figures

  • The annual rate of inflation in the March quarter fell to 3.6 per cent which was “a bit of a shocker”, says Rabobank Senior Macro Strategist Ben Picton.
    “Came in at one per cent quarter-on-quarter,” Mr Picton told Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd.
    “The market was expecting 0.8.
    “If we look at what that means for the RBA’s projections, they’re expecting inflation to be 3.3 per cent in June.
    “Little bit different to what the Treasurer will say.”

    I was paying about $1.75 a litre 2 years ago for fuel now it's $2.46 a litre , my car insurance has jumped $142.00 a year , power up $92.00 a quarter , Just a few little trivialities like $8.00 for a Pineapple Where's my wages , still the same .
