Ahhhhh! I’m screaming at the tv!!! Oh my goodness- I collect chocolate pots and that set you left behind was stunning. I would have scooped that in a heartbeat. I’m an hour away…. Hmmmmm…. Love what you found. Oh your naughty kitties! You have lots of love for them for sure.
You’re so entertaining and enjoyable to listen to. I always see you finding something familiar my mom or grandmother had or I have or had…. We also have two destructo- cats.. it can be so disheartening when something gets busted that you thought was safe from them.. I love your creation of franko-salt, also. 😅 so funny.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and THANK YOU for validating my destructo-cats experiences! I've had cats all of my life, and NONE of them have been as mischievous as these two! (But they're so cute!)
I love that you went to thrift stores in my area. The Avon Goodwill is where I have been dropping off clothes for years. I noticed you found some items that said Bavaria on them. When I was little I saw my mother had a huge bowl that said Bavaria and had a swastika on the underside. Pretty alarming for a Jewish kid like me. When I asked my mother about it, she had no idea. Unlike me she never checked out makers marks. I assume it came with us when we immigrated to the US in 1950 from Germany where we lived in a refugee camp. We used that bowl for years until one day it inexplicably cracked in half when I picked it up. I always think of that mysterious bowl when I see items marked Bavaria.
WOW! I think that would FREAK ME OUT! The truth is that history has a brutal side, and I don't think you can get much worse than that. What a fascinating story - thanks for sharing!
So many beautiful things! I’m sorry about your salt 🧂 shaker 😢. We all love 💕 our furry babies, my friend had the same problem so she had some plexiglass cut the size of her open shelves and used double sided Velcro to put over the front. She has so many lovely collections that she wanted to protect so this was her solution because she loves her sweet cats so much.
I like the double-sided velcro idea! Eric and I keep talking about adding glass doors to everything - it's nuts! (But I do love my fur babies - even more than my Portmerion salt shaker!)
😂your humor amuses me lol! Poor little salt n pepper set! They were so pretty! I also have two destructive cats..they prefer to destroy furniture unfortunately! Your house is so pretty! I love how you decorate! It's so charming!
I'm glad I can make you laugh! Cats can definitely be brutal with furniture - especially upholstery! Thank you for the sweet compliment about my house. I hope to do a full house tour very soon.
You are sooo lucky to have so many neat stores near where you live and they carry such quality items. Sounds like you had a fun day with your new friend. I bought Hearts and Flowers dishes by Johnson Bros at a yard sale a few years back and still enjoy them. I have a pretty china addiction and especially English pieces. Pink roses are my favorites too. I’m a flower gardener so anything with florals on them are tempting. I call them my winter garden when nothing is blooming.
I received my Lenox teapot yesterday. It’s even sweeter in person. Thank you for the fair price and tell Eric his wrapping and packaging was impressive and done very well.
It's such a great place! I'm glad you've also had success there! (There were so many girls in their teens/20s walking out with beautiful second-hand clothes!)
Great video, I can't believe you've come this far without a lighted magnifying glass! Guess Margie saw your need, "That's what friends are for". There will be no stopping you now!! The Haviland chamber stick was a real good find.
I'm using the magnifying glass so often - where has it been all my life? So handy! I'm glad you enjoyed the Haviland candlestick. It's such a pretty piece!
Have you thought about using museum wax to secure your items on shelves? I know they use it or something like it in areas that are prone to earthquakes.
Hi Chris - have you ever tried a product called Museum Wax to help keep your lovely finds intact and a little more "cat proof"? It is the same formulation used by museum conservators to secure antiques. I don't have cats but I use it for a little peace of mind (I have been known to accidentally knock things off of shelves). Hope this information might be helpful. :)
Everything was so beautiful today. Please list the diameter measure of the large candle holders they might make great risers. In my teapot china cabinet I use small china and glass compotes as risers for the teapots so that I can fit the smaller pieces around the teapots. I’m so sorry about the salt shaker. Thanks for the pictures of the cats. I love seeing all of the pets.
Thank you so much! The large candle holders are already sold, but I bet they would have made nice risers. What a good idea! I'm glad you enjoy my furry friends. 💕💕
No, but I'm going to as soon as my online estate sale is over. Pick-up day is this Saturday. Then I can move all of the estate sale stuff out of my house and I'll have room to move the books out of the cabinet and into the library. I'm really eager to try it! (I'll definitely include it in a future video - stay tuned!)
Change your description to say Second Chance Shop is in Simsbury. You also said it right when you got there but later in the video when talking about Waz, you said Glastonbury several times. The shop is in Simsbury. You missed Hidden Treasures in Avon.
You are so kind to ask! He is gradually improving and he's working at his store again (which he loves to do). He's still a bit tired and he lost a lot of weight, but I think he'll continue to get stronger in time.

@@WorthingtonHome It’s hard to be mad at kitties when they really are so cute and precious to us!

You are such a natural!! Love your videos and the cats, of course! ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for leaving me a comment!
That broken salt shaker would make a cute vase for pink flowers.

Hello Kris . Just found your channel. I subscribed. I’m from Manchester Ct!
Love your kitties!
Thank you so much! They're double-trouble, but I love them! 😸😸

Good video. Enjoyed the different places you went for this video.
Thank you! It's been so nice to have a reason to check out new places!

I bet your dishes are so lovely! I thought it was such a pretty pattern. I love the idea of floral dinnerware being like a winter garden! 💕💕
@@WorthingtonHome yes, that way you can enjoy your roses / flowers all year round. I decorate with them changing out months or seasons.
I received my Lenox teapot yesterday. It’s even sweeter in person. Thank you for the fair price and tell Eric his wrapping and packaging was impressive and done very well.
I'm so glad it arrived safe and sound! I'll be sure to tell Eric - he'll appreciate the compliment very much! Enjoy the teapot!
Love the second chance shop, been many times, small but always find treasures

great video! I loved the tour of your pieces.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such a sweet comment! It means a lot.
Beanz & Co is a great place

It’s so fun that you have friends to thrift with 😊
Definitely! Thrifting is so much more fun with a friend!
Have you thought about using museum wax to secure your items on shelves? I know they use it or something like it in areas that are prone to earthquakes.
Chambersticks do not often come in pairs, as far as I know. Lovely finds!
Good point. I guess I figure if one is good, two is better, right? 😂😂
As I said before, window shopping with you is truly interesting. Very soon, there will be many more Magees tagging along. Magee is sweet.
I'm so glad you enjoy window shopping with me! I hope I give you a good sense of the places I'm visiting.
I am buying things in my head lol 😂
Frankensalt 😂 oh Iris , good thing you are so cute 💖
If she wasn't so adorable and snuggly, she would have been out on her ear long ago! 😊😊😸

No, I never heard about it, but I'll definitely look into it! I very much appreciate the tip - thank you!
I use blue tac and it works great too! Available at Wal-Mart.

I actually use double sided tape to keep my collectibles safe from being knocked over.... not by a cat or dog ... but my hubby
Your comment just made me laugh out loud! That's so funny! I haven't tried double sided tape, but I bet it would help. Tell you hubby to behave! 😂😂
Kris, our day out together was Awesome!!
Thanks for sharing this day with me. ❤😊
Marjie
It was so much fun! I hope you enjoyed the video! 💕💕
Have you empty the books from the cabinet to put your chine in it .?

If not, mistake Block is an Irish company.
You may be correct - I really struggled to find out much about the company and I really tried!
Where is this Goodwill store located?
It was Goodwill in Avon, Connecticut. Very clean and organized, but a bit pricy in my opinion.
He's a bull in a china cabinet 😅
How is your father-in-law doing.
You are so kind to ask! He is gradually improving and he's working at his store again (which he loves to do). He's still a bit tired and he lost a lot of weight, but I think he'll continue to get stronger in time.
