  • It was a very cloudy day but that did not stop this Kingfisher from hunting for fish.
    For most of the shots I used the #A6700 #4K 100p 4x #Slowmotion, with the Sony 70-350 telephoto.
    Except for the branch diving slowmotion shot, here I used the Sony ZV-E10 and the 17-105 F4.0 in 1080p 100p 4x slowmotion.

    • @WillemvanderPijl
      @WillemvanderPijl  3 месяца назад +2

      To be honest? I don't bother with that. I worked with a mediateam of a big company and using s-log was forbidden because the grading would take too much time. I do use zebra during shooting to ensure I don't overexpose.
      Good luck! I love this setup it's so small and easy to bring along. I thought I would never use it again after getting the FE 200-600 but I still use this lens a lot! That speaks volumes of its quality

    Perfect videos that I was looking for. Thankyou so much for shareing it. I bought a sony 6700. but now confused whether I should go for 70-350 or tamrom 18-300. 18-300 pitcures looks quite share. what do you recommened

    • @WillemvanderPijl
      @WillemvanderPijl  Месяц назад +1

      I don't own the Tamron 18-300 but I do own the Tamron 17-70 F2.8. In my experience the 70-350 is WAY better at catching fast moving birds compared to the Tamron. I actually avoid my tamron when shooting birds. The birds in this situation were close enough to use the 17-70 but I ended up just walking further away and using the 70-350 instead

      @@jimfrazier8611 Depends on what you want to shoot.
      If you want more fps in 4K for slowmo video and you miss sensor stabilisation, the a6700 is a good buy
      The autofocus is incredible but I never had any complaints with my A6400.
      I feel like for photo stick with a6400 and get new lenses. For video I would lean towards the a6700.

    • @WillemvanderPijl
      @WillemvanderPijl  2 месяца назад +2

      No, but I did do some editing:
      It was a very dark day so I had to make the footage brighter and I increased the saturation a bit.
      But the a6700 footage looks very similar to what you see here. I had to do the most color grading for the ZV-E10 footage (thats the slowmotion jumping from the branch) because those colors were very much off and you can see the quality difference clearly.

    hi did u use a gimbal or just IBIS Stabilization? Also in ur experience when i combine an OSS lens with sonys 6700 IBIS yields a better shot or IBIS alone is more than enough and gives the same result? That is without any active stb. thx

    • @WillemvanderPijl
      @WillemvanderPijl  4 месяца назад +2

      This is handheld footage but I was leaning on something. If you slow down handheld footage after stabilization it will also look a lot better. Most of the video is in slowmotion.
      I think the combination is better but the IBIS in the camera does wonders when filming with, for example a sigma lens that has no stabilization

    Hello, I was amazed by the video.
    I have precisely been thinking about changing my old photographic equipment for a Sony 6700 and the Sony 70-350mm lens mainly for nature photography.
    Watching the video several times, the image quality I can see here is incredible.
    I would like to ask you a couple of questions:
    1.-Is the autofocus of the 70-350mm lens fast and good enough for nature photography?
    2.-Would you recommend this combination of Sony 6700 and 70-350mm for nature photography?
    Grateful for your response.

    • @WillemvanderPijl
      @WillemvanderPijl  3 месяца назад +1

      1. Absolutely, though in terms of reach it's not the best. In the Netherlands when I go birding (this was in a shelter) I use the Sony FE 200-600
      2. Yes!! *
      *It's an absolutely fast autofocus lens and very sharp image quality. But also consider a lens with more reach depending on your budget, where and what you want to shoot and wether you want to carry a very heavy lens.
      The compactness of the 70-350 and it's reach is a very nice combo to bring along during a day in nature

      And its super lightweight

      I understand! Thank you very much for answering.
      Weight is an important issue, which is why the 70-350 seemed interesting to me.
      In terms of focal length, I understand that the 70-350mm would become a 105-525mm due to the cutout of the APSC sensor, or is this not true?
      Grateful for your responses!

    • @WillemvanderPijl

      @@jupitereliothgodoyvillanue2705 You're welcome :)
      The 70-350 is super lightweight that's why I love it.
      Yeah it will be a Fullframe equivalent of 525m with the difference being that a Fullframe 525mm would get more light in because of the bigger sensor. But this lens is no pushover.
