I sat there dead inside while the professor praised this kid for reviewing the questions and let him leave. This was 2 or 3 years ago and it’ll still randomly cross my mind to this day 😅 shit still pains me bro
Happened to me as a kid travelling solo. As an introvert with heavy social anxiety i refused about five times in a row just because i was scared to be inconvenient for the flight attendants. Turns out that me sitting in the middle of the plane was way more inconvenient than me sitting in the first row of first class and luckily for me i finally accepted after ten minutes and ended up having the best flight experience of my life

As someone with social anxiety that sky rockets when I’m alone and/or in unfamiliar situations, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS! I literally have a script for myself and if someone goes off script I freak out and my brain goes on to have dial up noises in it as static plays.

No quiero vivir como robot sólo siendo amable y cortés, sin formar conexiones...
Remember that flight attendants deal with so, so, so many different people, different disabilities, and different languages. Sometimes i dont have the energy to talk and so i write down my request on my phone to show them. I have never ever gotten a negative reaction to it.
