I feel your pain going in after someone starts a job but has no clue of the mess they have started. I like to start my on job and finish. Good job on the clean up.
When we got the house in Cary, 1981 they were still clearing lots on our street, Castilia in Trappers Run and I would bring a lot of it home to cut into firewood...!!
Chris since since it seems that you come across a lot of trees taking them out cut them up etc... you might consider getting some type of a small tractors something with a chainsaw attachment type thing there's a lot of stuff out there I believe might save you some time be a lot quicker because they just buzzed right through them trees I don't know it's just a thought? Is it my imagination or did those trees have more and thicker roots that the white and red oaks? Even some of the pines that you usually have to deal with ?
Hey Chris, I know you hate mud but! Dam, you’re so good in the mud with your Volvo! You always do such an amazing job no matter the environment or weather you’re in brother! I’ve already watched this video a while back but came upon it and had to watch it again! 👍🏻
Like every other job that I've been on when somebody else starts it, then leaves it to you to clean it up and finish. A real 'crap' shoot! lol They see me coming and go run and hide! lmao
Your videos are like a blast from the past, what grading was like 30 years ago here in California!!! If we got caught doing a job like your doing it here, they'd be leading my crew and I away in handcuffs(lol)!!!
2:30 you seem to waste time by trying to grab everything at once, you have branches ready for the pile and then you drop them to try to get a bigger bite of branches. Love your videos but just was wondering why you do that?
Spec house or Custom home? That's an expensive building lot. If it's a custom home -- Road fabric and a thick crush stone base? Doesn't clay turn into a mess with the water there? French drains allover the property downhill toward the lake?
When I was a kid I lived in Big Bear at the time a small mountain town in the San Bernardino mountains of SoCal there was a tree called ironwood it lived up to it's name it tore up chainsaw teeth and weighed a ton but it burned hot and lasted a long time a good sized log would last all night I watched M&W Construction do a lot of house pads and lot clearing for dad with a 755 ford backhoe and a 955L track loader
I know you wish you had more power. Try putting a frost ripper hook on the excavator. It multiplies the force by focusing it in a much smaller area. It will pop those roots like cat tails. Not to mention you wont tear up your bucket pins and. Bushings. As well as the bucket linkage as much or nearly as fast. Might I suggest showtime fabrication to custom build your ripper hook or your next Hydraulic thumb. Poplar trees are awful, they have roots as big around as your leg that snake out 20 feet in every direction. Ranks up there with cottonwoods for bad trees in your landscaping.

I find it kinda funny. U finally got a bad job well... worse than normal. Always a neighbor complaining about mud in street when i get one like that. I always clean at end of day. Your uncle sounds like my dad the faster he went the slower the actual job became. In his haste to get it done the cleanup efforts were doubled so the in overall the job took longer to finish. But in his defense he learned to slow down enough that we met in a compromise. May not be enough time to do it right but there’s always time to do it over he would say. Great content 👍
No he still has the 250 it's on a job that Chris can't get finished due to all the rain the site that it's on is a 20 acre pond which is half finished so it has exposed mud and holds a lot of water I would guess
Sitting here watching you throw that excavator around like it's nothing makes it look so easy. Just incredible. Loving the videos!
