You are also in NO position to have an opinion or say so on what the US government does. It does what it wants to. You currently live in Hanoi, but criticize the US? That makes a lot of sense. You saying, “I’m an American living in Hanoi” like that’s supposed to mean something. Nobody cares about your opinion, in fact, nobody even notices that you are gone from the US and living in Hanoi. That’s how tiny and insignificant you are. Let reality sink in. 😂

President Putin is a very wise man. Although I am from Western Europe, I believe that Russia did everything to avoid a conflict in Ukraine, with a number of attempts to solve the problems that arose after the coup d'état in Ukraine in 2014 that NATO countries financed and installed an extremist regime that is close to Banderas Nazis as murdered some 100,000 people in Poland and Ukraine. The new government also included a couple of Americans who helped send all important issues to Washington.
There were several opportunities to get an advance settlement that NATO opposed. The Rand corporation document on Ukraine and the Nord Stream from 2019 tells what it was about. It also explains the 12 CIA-built military bases along the Russian border that could be equipped with nuclear weapons.
I think BRICS can become a great asset to humanity that all countries can join and then also gain access to their security.
I also think Vietnam benefits from having good relations with all countries.

Many US companies are moving manufacturing from China to Vietnam. This doesn't happen overnight. The US has been rebuilding its relationship with Vietnam going back President Obama. People forget history. Enemies of the past have become allies. Germany and Japan were the USA's biggest enemies from WWII and became two of its biggest allies.
A lot of people are geopolitically illiterate. The countries of the companies who have invested billions in manufacturing in Vietnam are allies opposed to Russia's invasion and war with a sovereign Ukraine. Companies want stability. They don't want to invest where leadership has questionable relationships.
A simple analogy to this would be you and your neighbor decide to partner in business. You bought a 50% stake into the business. There's a guy in town that's been known to cause trouble. You believe this man has even committed serious crimes. Your neighbor and business partner is seen hanging around town with this guy. He's even brought him around your business. How are you going to feel about your business investment and the relationship your business partner has with this questionable person? Do you have a conversation with your business partner expressing your displeasure in his relationship? Do you completely divest from the business? These are the decisions that companies and countries make on a larger scale.

A: Investments they and the businesses that the US proves in Vietnam are foreign companies that create jobs, but their profits from production and their products are exported from Viathnam, leaving for Viathnam only the wages of the workers, who can at any time fire them or the companies get out of Viathnam and what will your country have gained as investments, only the dacha of wages and nothing else. Investments they and Russia's promises( Because Putin is not Russia, he runs it) Education of specialists , building of nuclear facilities, bilateral economic relations, what does Vietnam gain - cadres of specialists nuclear economy and so on, and before Putin visited Vietnam, the American imagine how many times he visited and what investments they made in your country. is This is the difference, and what is good for the people of Vietnam he decides. About Ukraine, and "Russia's invasion only mentioned h-no of the atrocities, in 24 hours Ukrainians burned 2000 alive by setting them on fire while they slept, it's a familiar scenario to Viathnam.

The majority of Foxconn's factories are located in East Asia, with others in Brazil, India, Europe, and Mexico. Foxconn, is a *Taiwanese* based company, AKA Hon Hai Precision Industry. Foxconn built its first Vietnamese factory back in 2005 (as I recall).
I worked with another Taiwanese based company back in 2006, who relocated a manufacturing facility from China to Vietnam. Another _Chinese_ company called Chery just agreed to build an EV plant in Thai Binh. A Turkish firm, FMCG HayatNone also invested in Vietnamese manufacturing several years ago. I think Vietnam should be very careful getting into bed with Russia and getting all these big projects. Russia is not a good economic powerhouse and might be overplaying their hand.. if it comes between China and Vietnam , Russia will choose China and Vietnam will be left holding the bag ! The united states has a very good interest in, promoting Vietnams economic engine and increasing it to become a more powerful and prosperous country. This way, it can fend off China’s aggression along with its neighbors and of course the United States would be there to back them up military and financially !!! I don’t blame Vietnam for trying to see what they can get out of the Russians, but I would not be surprised if the Russians, betray them in the end as they cannot be trusted. If Biden happens to lose, you will see Vietnam become a better off with the United States as things will cool down once there is a president in the United States that knows what’s going on and cannot be taken advantage of. People would not discriminate your people based on politics. This unless war break out between two countries vietnam and america.
Between russia and usa not much differences. Russia invaded ukraine which give a huge red flag already.
Russia is still an old friend though, cant denied that

3 Indochina wars, Vietnamese pro-France anti-communist, pro-USA anti-communist, pro-Soviet anti-Chinese, capitalist or communist Vietnamese would get punished and contained if China saw neighbors hooked up with other superpower militarily, now Vietnam refused to join American Bamboo Curtain 2.0 to contain Chinese, because Vietcong knew they can't deter or scare China with American help militarily again, that's why Vietcong will be more neutral, not too anti-China but also not anti-USA, then Vietnam will get economic benefits from both and freeze South China Sea issue. Vietnam in the end had to adopt a foreign policy that was acceptable to China.
VN does benefit from the trade war between China and USA ; but it needs to remember that it can suffer or even be destroyed by these two (Beijing & Washington) and nothing Vietnam can do against them alone [without help from Soviets , for example] .If Vietnam goes against either of the two, and one day the eagle is growing bald , or turns into a big , fat chicken ...(wAr-merican are ready to run with tails between legs out of South Vietnam , Afghanistan > Ukraine will be another 'trumputin' ! ) Only proxy wars fought in neighbouring Taiwan, Philiipines and not in China and/or USA , it will be Vietnam who is the biggest loser in the end

I think this will not be any good for Vietnam because when the crunch comes and Russia has to choose between Vietnam and China they will go with China and that will sink Vietnam I think Vietnam should stay with America it is safer for them but let's see it play out hopefully it will work out for Vietnam hopefully it will not be bad for them 🤔

Ya, South Vietnam made a great choice choosing the US in the 60s/70s. Where the US basically left 10s of thousands of Vietnamese to fend for themselves. Or was that Iraq? Oh ya, both. The US puts in money but offers zero support when needed.

Thanks for the insightful video Duong! I think Vietnam's neutral stance is very justified considering the hypocrisy of international relationships including the US. Yes, Russia is attacking Ukraine unlawfully, but so did the US with Iraq under the baseless accusation of Weapons of Mass Destructions (there were none, what a surprise).
Considering also the history of the US and of Vietnam (and sorry if I talk off topic now, because some history revisionism in the comments won't be ignored by me), it just makes sense. The US greatly harmed Vietnam by interfering with their independence after 1954 and the with the reunification by breaking their promise about a reunification election, while setting up a puppet government and even going to war. While Vietnam has won the war, the scars remains.
Nevertheless, past is past. Vietnam is pragmatic and will always chose to balance the situation, a strategy they have done since their existence, especially during the Sino-Soviet split. They know very well how the US operates. Just because the US brings in a lot of money and the potential of deterring China doesn't mean Vietnam will walk blindly into their arms and give up any other relation, especially with a country like Russia that has positive relationship with Vietnam since it's existence.

Who they heck told the US they can tell either Vietnam or Russia what to do or not to do. That Vietnam war was the most unnecessary and most criminal war that the US ever fought. You can bet that I spent years protesting. Found every scholarship, paid internship, etc. to support me in college. Ended up with two doctorates and three graduate degree. (Ten years from the time I was 17.) We even had a newspaper. We held all kinds of protest, why?, because many of our friends were forced to go and end up dead, plus innocent people in Vietnam were dying defending their nation. And worse of all the deadly Agent Orange. One of my husband friends later commited suicide because both his children were born deformed.
