I wish more people would talk about this novel. You are correct comparing classical literature to a dense nectar, this book was brimming with wisdom but never seemed to be overwhelming. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I wish it was talked about more. I'll read the more popular ones soon but I can't imagine they'll be as broad and rich as this story was!

My favorite novel. I've read it 5-6 times, and I know I'll read it again.

Thanks, I actually think of what I read you might like this one more what I normally read. It's got more of an adventure story to it, and is thoughtful but also a good story like scifi.

I like this book and Demian, and will read/re-reread some others.

So what is the plot. You talked 10 hours, Jung, Kafka, made allegories to other authors, spoke of symbolism. Two boys. One stayed cloistered, the other wandered and experienced the world. In the end he found his true path.

Thanks! Yeah I'm starting to realize I read way too much of Germany recently! Recently moved and am in self-isolation so I've got a lot of time to read. Going to change things up a bit soon, started doing ARC reviews on NetGalley while I'm waiting for The Recognitions by William Gaddis to arrive from Amazon (which for some reason, takes almost two weeks to get here).

@@levitybooks3952 Oh, I've never heard of NetGalley until just now. Let me know how it goes.
Also, good luck with The Recognitions, I'm excited to hear your review.
