She had been playing E guitar for only 3 yrs when she played this! She is super talented and has a great ear for music. Steve Vai tweeted her his congrats. To my ear, her cover is better than the original!
This Tina's cover is one of the best performances I have ever heard by anyone on any instrument or any music genre. I have also listened to some very impressive classical players on different instruments and this is totally on bar with anyone. Not just the technical skills but also musically.
Now you see the true mastery. Not just technically accurate, but now she adds in emotion and feel and its expressed through the guitar. This is a well known masterpiece by Vai, and she takes it, adds her own style to it, and in my opinion makes it better. I listen to this at least once a week. I've only made it 20 seconds through the original. Lets also not get caught up in the difference in speed between the other covers you've reacted to. Yes the tempo is slower, but there are several times her fingers are moving so fast they get blurry. This is by far my favorite of her covers. No, its not something I watch when I need a pick me up, but on the other hand, wow, just freakin wow. Again, thank you for continuing to react to Tina and introducing her to more people. Altitudes and The Loner are next in line for me, but pick whatever you like next. Just keep them coming. Also want to give a shout out to two of my favorite Tina S supporters: John McDonald and David Yerkey. Good to see both of you.
Couldn't have said it better, but I do watch it when I need a pick-me-up, because when poetry just blows your mind into smithereens, well that cures everything, as does this, for me at least. She makes a guitar into an agent of dissolution and awakening. I'm not a spiritual person but I feel that.
-- TINA S interview : "For The Love Of God is a very complex piece musically, technically, structurally," she said. "Playing was a real goal, I'm very proud of it success." Steve Vai himself re-tweeted the video the day after it was posted. December 13, 2015.
I eagerly watched with anticipation the version of Steve Vai doing his live version of the love of god, the one with a classical orchestra! Well I must say, I really felt disappointed. His whammy bar flutter sounded lame more like a … fart, a mouse fart flutter. On the other hand, Tina’s whammy bar flutter sounds more like a roaring pissed off wild Bob cat. Tina was just a normal student who was saying that her studies did not leave her enough time to practice the guitar (actual quote from guitar magazine interview). Imagine if she would have had enough time to practice the guitar!
2023 : Poor TINA S, she has changed, she is anorexic, depressed, tattooed all over her body, her hair bleached, peroxided. She left her guitar teacher, she left her family. She got in with bad people. Yet we believed that she had a healthy mind !! Her new band is SPIN TWICE, imitation Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin.
It is said that she returned to her home in another galaxy, her work visa and passport expired, only in this way can the inexplicable be explained. Her Majesty Tina S was born to play the guitar, she is a virtuoso, an unimaginable and unattainable talent, Mexico

La guitarra solo es una extensión más de su cuerpo, es abrumador, es un alians de una galaxia lejana
Nobody plays FTLOG like Tina. Her feel & interpretation are overwhelming & unique. The comments you read are cool & on target. Thanks.
Watching her body language, I think this is one of her favorites... PHENOMENAL!
David, I'm still holding out for Lee to react to Altitudes. Any luck in that area?
My favorite by her! Thanks!
