Wow great lecture! As a Turk im really surprised how much he knows about Ottoman history. Many things that I know superficially I learned the details from him.
The wisdom of Shaykh is unmtached. I so enjoy listening to him and to his voice.

I knew about him from the Turkish series Muhtezem Yuzyil. He stopped a Janissary rebellion against Sultan Ahmed father of Sultan Murad

It is important to note that the ways that Sufi orders and Sufis may go beyond the limits or not uphold the limits of Islam doesn't invalidate their experience and understanding that is in within Islam.
It opens up the possibility of experiencing the faith and working together towards those ends for those who would be helped by the example of a continuing tradition beyond the scholastic and ethnic.

Maybe I missed the introduction on the personality leadership Prof Hakim is talking about. Would be good if a brief introduction about the man....or did I miss it? Exceptional series, nonetheless. Salam
