I can’t even describe how drastically better the defence is this year from last, it’s only been a couple games but it’s really impressive
our bullpen also seems much better.

Toronto's attendance is in freefall lately - 20, 000 to watch a key division rival like the Boston Red Sox? I can name possibly three factors, 1) A Monday which produced a grey, steadily rainy day. 2) Toronto Raptors versus Philadelphia 76ers road playoff match, which Toronto win, taking a 3 - 0 deficit to a 3 -2 realistic possibility. 3) COVID-19 travel restrictions - as the Red Sox playing in Toronto always previously resulted in thousands more fans than usual due to Boston fans travelling up to watch from Massachusetts and surrounding states.
However, no excuses, that is an unacceptably low attendance regardless of the possible reasons. Toronto, you finally have a decent team, you should be supporting them, honestly - would hate to see you become the next Montreal Expos, less than two thousand people in numerous instances. There are plenty of cities that would love the Blue Jays franchise; Buffalo, NY, remember? These baseball fans unquestionably showed awesome enthusiasm and support during the time the Blue Jays played their baseball there owing to the Coronavirus.
Remember these things, if you care to have a MLB franchise, Toronto.
Calm down buddy 20k on a Monday is not that bad especially with the raptors playing also, besides this game they were averaging like 30-35k there is a lot worse teams that average like 10-15k we are fine
@@kylerlepp2585 - I believe you are correct, I mean, I just found it a bit worrisome, Boston Red Sox and Blue Jays, if I had the opportunity to attend, definitely would.. so I guess I simply do not want to have such a potentially great entertaining team being taken for granted. However, you are correct, it was an impulsive concern which hopefully I took out of proportion. A rainy Monday, Raptors playoff game, yeah seriously, you are probably correct.
Hoping for another victory tomorrow! I still think the Jays have another couple gears that will increase their offensive capabilities to scary good outputs. 🙂

A lot of good things happened in this game. Great to see Berrios pitch 7 strong. Gurriel's bat is coming alive. Bo looked pretty good ;-) And that 123 double play was nice.
I’m loving Springers emotions, and not just from that catch, after other big hits by other guys, he’s always so excited and pumped up, and that big bro hug with Bichette, I think he’s bringing so much experience and mentoring with all these young guys and you can tell he loves playing here, super excited for this season 👏 Go Jays Go!!

What's good is having Chapman at third means that we don't need to see Espinal struggle in the hot corner and actually excel at 2nd and reduces the range that Bo needs to cover. He's improving two other defensive players just by being there.
@@caydenjacobs5955 name me 1 play he's made that was outstanding? Every line drive has got past him, he's even bobbled a few. I'm not saying he's bad, or that any other player could have stopped those balls, but you either haven't been watching or you just read what was said before the season. Espinal was a great 3rd baseman last year and Chapman hasn't been an improvement. I hope he will be, I loved the idea of Chapman too, so I want to be wrong. But so far, he hasn't shown ELITE defence, just average

Another great game, attendance was low though, maybe coz of Monday?
It was a grey, steadily rainy Monday too... Also,no doubt affecting the attendance to some degree, the Toronto Raptors were playing a playoff road game against Philadelphia 76ers - which they won. Toronto Raptors, initially being down 3 - 0, have now won two consecutive games, and the series is 3 - 2 now. Next game in is Toronto; if the Raptors can scratch a win out at home and even the series, history could be made. Although, admittedly, it is still very much advantage 76ers in the meantime.
Lol don’t know why Venable took out Nate after 72 pitches. They should’ve done damage to Berrios, who wasn’t even nasty. Offense waited way too get in this one that’s for sure as well. And not sure if Danish is ready to pitch in a high leverage spot. I just had a bad feeling. Ugh, right now the Red Sox are just simply unwatchable. I’m sure they’ll come around, but if this continues it’s going to be a long summer.

This is what happens when you don't have established bullpen roles. It's beyond frustrating to get such a great start from Eovaldi and waste it. Secondly, consistency has been an issue with the offense all year. It's getting frustrating.
As a fellow Sox fan I must agree with you that our bullpen needs more defined roles, but that's not the worst of this team's problems. The lack of SP is the biggest issue, and a healthy Sale won't be enough. The middle relief options are okay, but the backend is a complete mess and will continue to get exposed. Barnes is NOT a closer. He could maybe cut it in a weaker division, but not in the AL East. even at his best he was never a lights out kinda guy.
the Sox have given me some great entertainment and great memories over the years, but its very hard to be a fan when they have such a massive payroll and nothing but a mediocre team to show for it. giving free advertising to a corrupt, Marxist, gang of thieves on the opposite side of the monster facing the pike isn't winning over anyone either. but hey, as long as Henry gets to virtue-signal for all to see, we're all expected to pay $9 for a hot coco during rain delays, right?!?!?!

Viewing from the UK. An alien sport to us so a couple of queries. The number that comes up in the strike box, is that what it's called? Is that the ball speed? If a catcher on a base catches the ball it looks as if he has to be in contact with a base, even by a toe, for the batter to be out. Or vice versa for the batter to be on a base. May be all simple for you guys to follow but you try understanding cricket and you would be in my shoes. Cheers all.

@MLB, love the quick cut around the 2 minute mark to show us how the bases got loaded. I wouldn't mind seeing the end of every single plate appearance, but even that quick cut helps a lot to know the context for that double play.
