I haven't played organized ball in about 14 years (since high school) but I love watching these vids. It really takes me back to those good old days. None of my coaches ever played in the majors but it was still the best time of my life.

Hey Matt, I was what is the best way to get beck into rhythm in the infield. By “rhythm” I mean where you feel very clean and could take any grounder coming your way, your hands and feet and moving together perfectly and transfers are crisp.
I tend to have a hard time with this even though I field grounders almost everyday. I can still field the ball and people say it looks fine but it doesn’t all feel as fluid to me. I’m not sure if I’m just crazy or if something actually looks different. Sorry if this question came out unclear.
But basically what is the best thing to do when fielding the ball seems more difficult than normal.

Huge mistake from juan there. Pitchers know what baserunners are supposed to do, they are supposed to do what you listed and they are supposed to wait for the pitcher to step on the rubber to lead. Now if you got your signs and checked the outfielders, as long as you are looking at the pitcher you can get off the base maybe 2-3 feet before he gets on the rubber and here is why. They know you are supposed to wait for them to step on the rubber to take a lead and it will tick them off to all hell and they might even stare at you to get on the base but, at 2-3 feet there is no shot they will throw you out and now... u get in their head bc they are ticked off you are doing this, so they are now thinking about you the runner instead of the hitter and might even walk the batter or leave a mistake for a dinger. But best case scenario, they throw it to the base you are obviously back on before they even throw it and they throw it away from the person holding the bag and you get a free base. Like we all know baseball is a mental game and use any edge you can get.
on top of that for leads you should be getting atleast 1 body length and 2 steps from the bag. you'll make it back everytime if you have good reaction timing and are willing to get dirty every time, will also cut down a huge chunk of space off a steal. go out to 1st before a game and measure it out and mark it so you know where to put your right foot.
