  • A brief introduction to the 78rpm Fraternity discs of 1922 and a fraternity disc from 1947 that gives no indication that a musical legend is playing piano and singing.

Great song! The name He Rambled is a nod to the tune the song is based on - Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech.

Oh wow - Plymouth Indiana! I live just north of there in South Bend. Been to Plymouth many times. I would have never guessed they would have had a recording studio there or even had a college past or present. It's not a big town, just a farming town with only 10k people. Would have been even less in the 1920's and 1930's.
I should go thrifting in Plymouth, probably too late now to find any 78's in this day and age though.

Oops - I posted too soon. Does Hoagy "Bix" know about this? (He must, if it's in the IU archives. We should ask!)

It would also be good to ask him if his father had a hand in writing any of this.

Not much of a question about that voice. 🙂
