I'm not even 30 seconds into this video and I'm smiling ear to ear! I miss Sailor Moon so much. And this port is for my favorite system the Genesis so I absolutely can't wait to watch this
@@user-pv9pv4xf9c true, fan made copies embedded with the English rom are available for cheap. I'm not even a Sailor Moon fan but I enjoy this game because the gameplay is absolutely ace. I think they used the Streets of Rage 2 engine to make this, which makes sense.
The soundtrack for this game was ace, I'm not even a Sailor Moon fan but this was such a great game, I would've bought it if they officially made a run of it in the US because it reminded me of Streets of Rage 2 or 3 and we all know how awesome those games were and are.
I much prefer this game over the 2 snes games. The return of the dark kingdom is actually explained here and the bits of dialogue at the start of each level are cool too. Plus the music (especially the fight against Queen Beryl) is really good.
the moment i ran across this game in high school i fell in love right away why it's a beautiful game and cod cod iw is super color fun and fun to go back to over and over
Honestly this looks better than the super famicom original sailor moon game! I have that one but found it REALLY slow and a little tedious (but with really fun presentation) but this mega drive one looks like it addresses all my complaints and makes for a better game!
Have played both extensively, I'd have to give the nod to R, whose only real shortcoming is that the game is far too short (perhaps due to having fewer villains than season 1). I own a copy of R, the MD game seen here is $200+, and not worth that price at all. It's a good looking game with some flaws, but no game IMO is worth that damned much money.
This is one of the easiest beat-em-up games ever made in the 16-bit era. Sailor Mercury's attack speed is so quick, it's nearly unstoppable. Just get to a corner and button-mash her basic attack = progress through most of the game.
@@AaronCMounts On Hard Mode she is the absolute worst character to use in this version, her attacks have such short range, while enemies will gang up and surround you, and can hit you before you can hit them.
I played this game. And completely miffed they did not continue up to the Sailor Moon SuperS arc. Well, either that or it didn't get into my country. 🤷🏻♂️
Good game, beautiful too, but plagued by hitbox issues, and enemies surrounding you within seconds (enemies should not move this fast, an issue that plagued the Genesis Double Dragon games as well), not to mention this games current steep price tag.

why in the iotions its says Continues X3, and in the gameplay you have Continues X5? Did you really played this at hard or just in easy? Bc in easy you can have Continues X5 and the demons doenst attacks you so much...
You're confusing 3 different things. Difficulty and Continues are separate options, you can have 7 continues on Hard or 0 continues on Easy, or whichever combination you prefer. The number you see next to your health bar is your LIVES, for which there's no options, it doesn't matter what you chose you'll have 5 lives per continue.

@@CosmixReflection They could have fixed the issues(or bugs) from the enemies' hitboxes, in case you didn't play the game, an issue that can't be overlooked is the fact that everytime an enemy falls and gets up, it's like its hitbox "disappears" and it "returns" after a while, when it should "disappear" only when the enemy is laying on the ground and "return" at the same time it gets up, moments like those make the game unplayable at times, unless you get away from the enemies for a while after they fell and got up until their hitbox "returns".

dude you can buy an Analogue Sega Genesis which is built from scratch, not an emulation and it can play this game.

They went all in on the soundtrack god. I can't believe this is the genesis. It actually sounds nice
In the right hands the genesis can really shine sound wise. This OST isnt an exception, but it is defo great all the same.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that resorted to the cheap trick of not completing the combo to stun lock enemies to get thru this game.
