Well, my philosophy is that natural languages have already done waaaay weirder. Heck, the instrumental to ergative marking happened in Indo-Iranian languages (if I recall correctly)
Interesting language, the sound fits the steampunk theme ( mondurs?) It sounds a bit like an engine. Further I also have conlangs one of them is "ha linga " it's a bit of an romance artlang but made with a pattern of historic sound and grammar changes. I made it to sound a bit ancient-ish while stil being romance I love romance language, so moast of my conlangs are romance, but I also got one germanic and one slavic conlang.
I think you mean to say that the proto-language's case system is like the one in Czech (or Ukrainian, or PIE (it's very Indo-European looking)). The one in Kédéj drops the vocative and transforms the instrumental to an ergative case. Or that's how I interpret that.
Well done, great job. I'd love to know more about your process for developing this. Did you use any tutorials? Do you have any tips for fellow conlangers?
At 5:29, you say that DAT + hédz is used to describe "location" while LOC + hédz is used to describe "motion". Isn't it the other way around? Thanks for sharing your work. Great stuff!
Thank you! Basically, first person plural exclusive is like a version of "we" but specifies that the listener is not included in the group. The present is just the tense that it's used in since there are multiple endings depending on tense and mood.
Feels kinda like turkish or hungarian. Pretty good stuff!
Makes sense given those were some inspirations, among others
Only problem, none of the words are over 1000 letters long
@@KerbalHub more realistic than a real language lol
sounds definitely Uralic
Juicy SpaceDirt moment

A pleasant surprise to watch while enjoying the evening

Thank you!

I love the sound of dózútózdá in the sample xD Awesome stuff!
CHONKER VIDEO
Amazing as always
I love how the argument marking conventions evolved from the instrumental case. it's funky *and* believable

@@weepingscorpion8739 yea, thx for the correction, I'm a native Czech speaker so that's why i saw it in there at first
@@jakubk.417 Yeah, don't worry about it. I speak Slovak (but not natively) so the system jumped straight into my face too.

That is true, must have missed that in editing. Good catch!
Good work and nice presentation. Smooth phonaesthetics. 👌
Ah yes, an UwU suffix
I love this

amazing
I would be happy to know more about this world and mondurs as well)
very fun and cool channel, discord man
Absolutely beautiful video for a beautiful conlang! Many thanks for sharing this :)
P.S. exclusive first person present plural what's this?
Thank you! Basically, first person plural exclusive is like a version of "we" but specifies that the listener is not included in the group. The present is just the tense that it's used in since there are multiple endings depending on tense and mood.
Basically: "me and other people, but not you."
The grammar is coincidentally oddly similar to the one of my project I'm working on at the moment
will you post a reference grammar/lexicon of this langauge? I like it a lot and rewatch this video all the time
I wasn't originally planning on it but I do plan to make a lot more in Kédéj, and apologies for the late response

Thats the most cursed suffix ive seen

Nice conlang! Though I have a question: What site/app do you use to write your conlangs' scripts digitally?
Thanks in advance!
I use inkscape to make the actual glyphs, and then calligraphr to put them all into font form
@@SpaceDirt_ Thank you for the answer! I was struggling to create my own conlang's script, so this will help me a ton, hopefully.
I wonder at what point logographs were still used as determinatives.
I really like the script! What did you use to make it?
the `é`s in the title look wonky which isn't an issue if you use the hungarian letter: Kédéj
first person plural
very cool vid
love it
Cha Empire? Kaentwo would like to know your location.
Can u make a translator website or someting
sounds kinda like Hungarian or like Turkish
Tre interese
Why does it sound so much like Hungarian?
maybe because the vowels and the frequency of stops i think?
@@lubieplackixd9223 yeah maybe
@@itacom2199 Vowels, stops and it’s also agglutinative.
Sounds dravidian with wrong phonemes. Is probably not. Thanks.
Do you use comfortaa?
Yes I do!
