im spanish and never in my life have i got food poisoning here in spain, i feel so bad for you guys! i do feel like in madrid you need to know where to eat... hotels tend to have bad food and since madrid is nowhere near the coast id also never eat seafood there. next time make sure to have properly cooked meat and eggs (jamón is so yummy but at the end of the day its dry cured meat so if not cured properly can also be dangerous) and no seafood when you're not near the sea unless its a very specialized place!
