I'm age 44. Canadian living in Toronto. I travelled to Cali in the 1990's to skate wallenberg and embarcadero. I still watch clips from those spots. Great memories for me
Even after watching the whole video, he lands it so clean and easy looking it made me instantly forget how hard he worked on it. His style is insane. I also love that he had everyone their skating with him. Dude seems like an awesome person.
I was driving thru San Fran one time and I decided to stop by Wallenberg just to look at it. Stood at the top and I was like “ I’ve done 12 stairs but I’ll never try this ever in my life!” The thing is so freaking long. You’re looking out more than looking down, plus it’s pretty high too
It's terrifying. One of my boys from Martinez took me there a few years ago, he landed an ollie, I tried and quit. When I visit again, might go back and just try to stick an ollie, apart from that, I'm not getting younger.
Mad respect for going back 5 times and probably driving from LA to SF, then having the homies set up the ramp each time add's extra pressure. That's persistence and damn did it pay off, it couldn't have been more beautifully executed. Most people don't appreciate how much work goes into the majority of the 3 - 7 second clips that make up a video part.
That's so fucking cool to hear! Have fun. I quit skating before I ever got to 20, mostly because I just go too damn big, but wish I hadn't. Such an awesome and fun sport!
@@Hassan97moe Never too late to start. Quit when I was 24, started again at 39 ... five years ago. The body changes and one learns to adapt. Keep going!
this is hands down the best skateboarding related series on the internet. these and the rough cuts make me appreciate every trick so much more. a video full of makes is nice and all but witnessing the battles just elevates everything.
I honestly get more hyped to skate after watching My War or mission videos than actual parts. It’s easy to get lost watching a part full of banger but when you get to see how your favorite pro gave his all for it that’s what gets me out of my seat to go skate
Wallenberg, similar to the Davis gap, is one of those spots that you can watch in a video and appreciate it, but you won't get how gnarly it really is until you get a look from the top in person. Another legendary addition to the list - that's a great My War. Thanks to Thrasher for continuing the series. The Phelper is proud and smiling from above.
The miles Silva my war of the LA line is what got me back into skating after a gnarly injury. I’m not kidding the end just showing a raw line with no music was so emotional it captures perfect what skating is all about
It's so crazy how you can try something for four years and when you finally land it it's steezy. I can't even imagine how that works. If I have to kill myself for a trick it ain't looking steezy haha.
