As a musician I find these tips to be incredibly valuable. As someone who still struggles with nerves and performance I’m looking forward to adapting/adopting these. Awesome channel Matt!

My son has been struggling bigtime with nerves at the plate. So much so that he'll go through an entire at-bat without swinging. It's heartbreaking. Thank you so much for giving me these tips I can use to help him. Your channel has been endlessly useful to me as a Little League coach. You're the best.

    TSOH
    First Up is Key Up
All right. Stop and think. This is your first time up in a game. You are not concerned
about mechanics now. Your practice time has made them automatic. Nervous?
Nothing wrong with that. I think it’s good to be a little nervous. My impression
when I first saw Carl Yastrzemski was, “Gee, what a twitchy guy this is, all coiled up
like a spring, ready to pop, just can’t wait to hit.” Naturally, if you’re so nervous it
affects your control at the plate, then you’ve got a problem, but that won’t happen
very often if you’ve got your mind on the business at hand, which is:
You are thinking strictly about getting a good ball to hit, and remembering what
    to expect from the pitcher.
    ...

Thank you for making these tip videos Matt. I play on my middle school team and every time I come up to the plate, I get a little nervous because I feel it is my job to try and get on and start something. So watching this will now help me know what to do when I come up to the plate. Thank you

Exactly. This in itself leads to success! The less you stress over things the more calm you'll be. The more calm you are, the more likely you are to make the right decisions! Calmness and a clear head can really make all the difference!

Excellent video, Matt; thank you. I’m fortunate to still be playing hardball at age 70, but I’ve had some tough ABs in a tourney, this weekend, so it’s fun that this year old video came to me tonight. I’ve heard similar tips presented, but this is an excellent reminder….can’t wait for tomorrow!
    And
Thanks for hanging the Pete Frates jersey in the facility!

Hey Matt the only time I’m really nervous is when I hit inside and outside fastballs foul, and either pop up in the infield for an out or get overly anxious knowing I’m in a pitchers count and kinda feel like I’m at the fate of the pitcher... my freshman year batting average was .382 which is ok but I have a lot to improve

I'm a baseball fan, and I'm here trying to figure out why what happens on the ball field happens.
Sometimes, the batter walks into the batter's box, and I think, "You can deal with that fight you had with your (girlfriend)(wife)(both) LATER. Rght now, you have ONE JOB to do: Scoring, or doing something that will advance your team towards scoring.
