From early 2011 till mid 2012, while studying at Busan High school of Art, Jimin has learned various genres of dance such as contemporary dance, ballet, Korean traditional dance, Chinese acrobatic dance & more.
Also Jimin’s powerful dance movements are strongly influenced by his martial arts background which are Gumdo(Korean sword martial art) for 8 years & he is black belted (highest level of its color grade) in TaeKwonDo( Korean national martial arts).
Then Jimin has started his training in BigHit entertainment on 15th, May, 2012 & joined in BTS debut team around January, 2013 then debut 13 th, Jun, 2013 with all BTS.

Fun fact everyone tends to forget: Jimin before doing contemporary, he did popping, hip-hop longer than he did contemporary/ballet. Everyone always tends to mention Contemporary and while he’s amazing at it. I still believe popping is his forte; so when most people see him doing more street dance hip-hopish songs they get surprised. In my opinion, what makes him even more unique is that he mixes both when dancing, which makes him such a versatile dancer. His dancing includes so many different styles

Here's info some aren't aware of: ❤️JIMIN, at age 11-12 started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy.
Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!!
So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey!
JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!!
JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! He focuses on every detail! Known for his work ethics and being a perfectionist to a fault, spending hours in the practice room, will study every move, even focusing on hands to fingertips. Even his facial expressions, or the look in his eyes! Every single detail he focuses on. Jimin tends to take in the music and interprets all the emotion & feelings, whatever it's trying to convey through his body movements as well as his vocals.
JIMIN has won the prestigious titles for 2 yrs in a row for both KING OF KPOP, as well as also winning BEST TOP #1 DANCER IN KPOP, now 3 yrs in a row, as well!! Jimin is also referred to as "Rookie's Bible" because all rookie idols, try to emulate & study every move he makes, trying to learn from him! Aside from all that Jimin has won other countless award, broken many records. His 5 solos have broken charting records worldwide, as well as being top seller, plus most listened to. Also breaking records for being #1 branding marketing idol, every single month for now over two yrs, a feat never achieved before, and still ongoing! So much more as well but will stop here.

I first feel for his shy demeanor and gorgeous visuals but later discovered I also loved his voice the most and the member whom I could never take my eyes off was always him. He is unmatched. And of cos adorable and funny and so naughty too.

The performance maybe but the song is so dark if we really get to it and study the lyrics based on jung’s theory of psyche…. This should’ve been part of “map of the soul : shadow” if that was an album on it’s own. Is actually kind of sad how he wants you to pick and choose what parts of him you want and he’ll give it you, a changed person, new experience. Is actually holding shadows back, putting a front or a persona, if you only want the perfect parts when is he achieving individuation??

@@shugadaddy4841 Jimin actually discovered his passion for dance in middle school and started in hip-hop like pop and lock. And YES, Jimin was the top dance student at Busan Arts HS (he was also the top in his class academically). He only attended for little over a year before moving to Seoul to be an idol trainee under BigHit. Ironically he had to "unlearn" his modern/contemporary training and go back to his hip-hop roots to meet the demands of idol dance. 💜
