1:16 This part always makes me wonder if our ancestors truly saw giants in ancient times. Id like to believe theyre depicting giants here and its interesting to me as a Mindanaoan from northwestern part :"D
It's not courtship, it's a story about the forbidden love between the prince and the princess. They went to the mountains together with the princess's umbrella girl to meet. Now, during the meeting of the lovers, nature disagreed to their love so the hand fans represent the wind and the beat of the bamboo sound represents the sound of the huge rocks falling from the mountains. But the prince and the princess together with her umbrella girl manage not to get killed from the rushing rocks. :D
its not a muslim dance...maybe a a costume..but a dance? its a philippine dance...theres alot of bamboo dance in the philippines...and singkil is not a muslim dance remember
Honestly if you're familiar with folk dances competitions, one of the rule is that the choreographers can change some things according to their interpretations like formations and blocking for instance. As long as the key elements are retain and the essence of the dance remains, no problem.
@@agoroyagoroy517 actually that costumes are not a muslim too but a srivajayan/malay or indian costumes and even the bamboo dance concept is from india too filipinos love to adopt those traders culture.. only muslims claim that
@@awezomecrasher8367 You are right. Singkil is not a Muslim dance at all. The Philippine Islands used to be Hindus and Animists/Pagans before Islam and Christianity came into the country. lol
