    It is very nice to see the Philippine history through Bayanihan’s dance troupe. I am glad they are still around. Beautiful as usual! Thank you!

    It is called El Cañi. Cañi means gypsy in Spanish. From the looks of it, strong Castilian influence.

      Andalusian influences, since the trade from Spain to Latin America and Philippines started there!

    Is that Janice A. on the far left? I can't believe she's still there... And tall girls na siya? Wow! Gaano na ba kaliliit ang mga liliputz ngayon?

      Irwin Ingan the music is 'España Cani' commonly used in dance sport competitions, written by Pascual Narro.

      +Jayson Mangalino You know they're not the same right? He's asking the rondalla/Bayanihan version of the music, the version with the Asian influence.

    • @OctavinaPlayer
      @OctavinaPlayer 7 лет назад +1

      Singkil Filipinas No, it's the same. I know the piece, they just played it slower and add a modulation in the end.

      You've said it yourself: they're two DIFFERENT versions. He's most likely asking for the slower, modulated rondalla version, not the Espana Cani version which is faster. You should have known that. He's asking for the BAYANIHAN version. Again, the two versions are different in pace. They are DIFFERENT.

    Why wear American era jackets.

      That's a part of the Spanish era fashion for men. And Europe was the origin of coats, not North America.

    I'm not impressed. Even the men's posture could not pass as flamenco dancers. I would call it flamenco diet or flamenco light. So much to be desired. Don't hate me. I'm just being honest.

      @* Well, whether they like it or not, they enter into the domain of this dance genre. Can they call it 1/4 or 3/16 flamenco? If it' quacks and walks like a duck, it can't be doggy for sure..

      El Cani and Flamenco are different, the flamenco very slow... While el cani it's too fast and so castillan moves...
