Ive been welding aluminum every day for 2 years with the miller 350p. And the python push pull. Ive also used the Lincolns like the on you have but i prefer the millers because the arc is more crisp and i can crank the volts higher before the wire is burning back to the gun I have learned that a little sputtering is not always bad. But in the ideal scenario you want to be right on the edge where it will sound kinda like static from a fm radio. I usually run 23.5 to 40 volts with about 265 to 275 wire speed all depends on the day aluminum is very temperamental. Miller 350p better quality arc once stablized. Lincoln smoother start easier for beginners. Like yourself
Thank you, everyone welds full send wire speed or no wire speed at all. It's a happy medium. You want SOME consistent crackles. I weld aluminum boats at Armstrong Marine USA inc. I havent found anyone on youtube that can really weld aluminum like we can. We use Millers also. Let me tell you when you know how to weld aluminum, it looks better than steel. Most satisfying welds I've seen in my life
I use this machine on Pulse only for everything, and I lay down dimes like Gtaw every time...The crater and hot start are a God send also...I love it...
@@TVWeldyeah I'm doing spray arc uphill and its a pain. I know you have to wait after passes and clean it really well or it builds up with impurities and welds like garbage. Wire wheel every pass and let it cool off before running the next. Vee groove 1 inch cover passes are kind of pain. I try to hold that gun 10 to 15 incline angle and i weave it but it just dont weld like steel.
@@TVWeld my test passed bend test. I went kind of sour on the cover passes but the grinding of the coupon and rounding those edges made a huge difference when it was put on the bender. 365 ipm 26.5 volts
Great video although you can not tie the guns lead in a knot and expect it to weld properly. Yes if the lead is looped, going up or over objects, twisted, or hanging it works as it should.. A knot would cut off gas flow and potential damage the liner.
$6,000 might be a little low. I bought the gun not too long ago and that was $2,000 alone. I would say you'd probably be into the whole system for 7 to 8 grand depending on the supplier. Just a guess.
@@TVWeld We recently had to buy a new gun for the 350mp, a Magnum Pro, front trigger, $3500 Cad. This is our second Magnum after the Python was discontinued years ago...... Pissed off the boss something fierce when this happened.. had to wait 2 months to get it.... The machine new, here was about $7800 and that was after shopping around apparently...
Love welding aluminum. Tig and mig. Did it for 20 years. Fronius with the cobra push pull lead is the only way to do it.
I thought about getting a Fronius. I'm not even sure who sells them where I'm at. I've only used TIG on a Fronius, but it was a nice machine.
Looks good Man. I have the Lincoln 350mp and Python gun.. Love it so much I simply can't put it down; except when the wife calls me in for dinner. lol

I use a Lincoln 350 and 360 every day. We run at mode 76
great video!! what is the best setting on 3/16 and 10g aluminum corners? any advice??
On my Lincoln 350 MP MIG welder the settings for 3/16" are 490 ipm/21 V, and for 10 Ga 325 ipm/19 V. for 3/64" wire size.
Any advice on uphill aluminum?
Weave if you can and pause on the sides and hold to let the other side solidify.

@@barryjones7025 It sure doesn't. You have to move quick with Aluminum. Do you have pulse capabilities?
