Short Intense Tubes - Surfing Java

Indonesia is not that well known for its slabs, but this setup in Java pretty much sums up the definition of the word. Waves surge out of deep water and suck hard over the a flat section of reef producing super hollow lefts, with rides only lasting a few seconds long. It's no surprise that it's normally swarming with bodyboarders here, but not while we were visiting.
This wave is definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy short & intense tubes breaking over dangerously shallow reef, then this is the place for you.
