    1. Shapeshift: If you can’t get the word out, change physiology to get different outcomes.

    2. Select the right expectations: expect more from yourself than you expect more from other people

    3. Science of availability: read more, learn new skills, expose yourself to new things so you can have more words available.

    4. Speaks in three: pick 3 things to talk about that are relevant to your opinion. Easy to remember for you and listener

    5. Structure:
    1. Chronological - talk about past; what happened, present; what is happening, future; what can happen next.

    2. Persuasive - What’s the issue?, What’s the solution? How can it benefit people?

    3. Motivation - What’s the issue? Why’s it important? What’s next?

One thing that has always helped me is to read a lot so my mind’s eye can visualize words as I speak...also speaking how you should write (like grammatically correct, etc) without ums or “liiike”makes you sound smarter

I am researching for how to effectively speak to others and I am blown away by how much I have learned from just watching two of your videos. I plan to incorporate all of these tips you mentioned when communicating with others. One that really stood out to me is 'speak in 3s.' I am a classic overthinker and this is obvious when speaking at work or in my personal life. All of my thoughts try to force there way out of my mind at once. My real points tend to get lost in that mess. Thank you for your content and I plan to be watching you much more. :)

How smart you are! Sounds like that you have a structured system in your mind, so that every time when the impromptu situation happens, you can pick that structure right away! I do believe that if we can train ourselves to build up at least three structures in our mind and practice them, we will be able to use them in any flexible way. Thank you so much!

Hi, Dr Grace- on this teaching, I found the "issue, solution, benefit to the people" the most usable.
I want you to know, however, that my most favorite teaching of yours was the persuasion is not manipulation video. I took notes on an index card and posted it on my refrigerator. raise attention render intention reach the emotion regard the rationalization and ready reaction. It's helping people to make their own win-win situation. Persuasion is not manipulation. I appreciate knowing this so much. Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing Dr.Lee I feel that my speaking skills even in my mother tongue is not that good, but after watching your video I somehow feel that my confidence is coming back. I am not happy few days ago because my bike was stolen deliberately by some bad guys in my city, and I try to explain how sad I am and I lost my money all that kind of stuff but I can’t find a conclusion of what’s my point or how’s my friend feel, because they just don’t know what to do after what I said.
They might say you can just buy a new one or don’t be upset etc.
I guess my “level” is not high enough so that my thoughts are always struck on the bike which actually isn’t that expensive after all. As Dr.Lee said I think I should focusing on learning new things gaining more experience so that I retain more vocabulary while speaking and communicating with people, that’s what I really should focusing right now.

Thanks Dr. Lee, wonder if I understood the "Select the right expectation", I think what you are saying "trust yourself that you can do it and don't judge hard yourself too much, trust what you say will be good enough", I love the 3 and 3, the selection of 3 three top points you wish to deliver and the template of it, In my reports I do have a template and it is very effective, now I can think of conversation as a structure and most important point was do it in a way that others can understand and benefit from the message, Great job.

You are advising speak in three but in contrast you are speaking five techniques in this video :
But I strongly agreed with you for seeking in threes, as it will be helpful for the audience and listeners to remember or to retain the speech contents. (this is my experience)

Speaking in three is helpful when you are trying to improve in the beginning. But once you have a strong command speaking impromptu, then you will be more comfortable speaking about lists of 5, 7, or even 10!

I'd like to use and practice the speak in threes and I'll check it soon if it's really effective for me. Thanks for the tips Doctor 😊
