I still love the EDT version. I used it all the time when I was in my early 20’s. ☺️ It lasts so amazingly compared with many other designer brands out there!!! I’d love to try the EDP version too.
Love this EDT version, the OG! It's my signature scent back in college. I lived in a tropical country so the warm weather brings out the best of this fragrance. I still keep a bottle and use it in summer. Thanks for the review Soki! 😊
I’ve recently brought a sample at first I thought it smelt horrible, but as the fragrance began to dry down it smelt amazing it’s so long lasting aswell . I’m definitely going to purchase a full bottle of the EDT
It's an aquatic soft floral and fresh with a hint of green, almost like walking in a floral forest during rain. Very classy and sophisticated and soft. I hope they could make EDP version of this as I want it to last all day.
Superb REVIEW❗😁👍 (...although I am just now running into it 9 months on ...) Your review covered it all-every nuance of each scent factor & had me ready to at least test run L'EAU D'ISSEY for purchase budgeting.
I really like the smell of this perfume I bought it last time from Germany thank you for ur review there always on point and u deserve more followers !! -Ur sister from uae ...
I keep coming back to it, it's soo different from anything else! The original from 1992 was actually the eau de toilette in an opaque whiteish bottle, later they released the edp which is more floral, a tad sweeter... (Same happened with Gaultier's Classique btw). More feminine perhaps. There's no difference in longevity/projection as far as I'm concerned :) Good to see you also review classics!
Mine just arrived in the post and I’ve just sprayed it and I don’t like it. So I’m glad I’ve seen your comment because I’m hoping I’ll love it on the dry down 😫
I bought the EDP from Boots online as it was on offer and a guy I know wears an Issey for guys. His lasts so well and is strong, hence me taking a risk on a women's version. I am really impressed at how long the EDP lasts and as I bought it blind, not having tested it or anything I am really pleased with it. I actually think it changes very very slightly hour on hour and keeps the fragrance interesting. I also bought Chanel Chance eau fraiche EDT which has been my fave for years (and I thought it was the old bottle that did not last -fragrance-wise, but the brand new bottle of EDT also still dies off after about an hour and has really disappointed me). Great review so thank you, and many plus points for Issey. Glad I bought it.
Hi, i have bought EDT version of this and have no idea if its original or fake..does it smell like rose water? I can't smell any prominent notes here. It straight away smells like a rose water to me. Can you confirm?
@@Fragrance_Freak Hi if you are buying from a reputable shop eg Boots or John Lewis it will be the real thing, otherwise its risky from an auction site. Ive never used rosewater so cant say one way or another. Kindest regards.
I absolutely LOVE this scent!! Have for years... Great review, I was wondering what notes draw me to this and this review helped a lot. Thank you. What are some of the best flankers to this?
Omg! U have to pair Chanel Chance eau fraice perfume lotion with original Issy miyaki. I’m using it today because it’s raining here in NY and I love wearing citrus when it does. U get Whiff of both
I love both the femme and homme. They actually compliment one another. I will be buying my girlfriend the edp soon. The edp sits closer to the skin. I get more of the floral notes on my girlfriends skin. Issey smells very different person to person.
I love this aqua fresh smell, perfect for my water sign personality. not too sweet, but fresh and very pleasant, though I bought toilette water to give it a try. It lasts quite long. That's what I needed, cuz I don't like very sweet or heavy fragrances.
Hi Soki. Firstly, thank you so much for the lovely videos. They are very informative and you are so knowledgeable! I love the fact that you use both technical but also easy to understand terminology. I bought this perfume a few times when it first came out in the 90s and it was one of my favourites. I'm thinking of ordering the EDP refill (as I have a few bottles already) and I have a few questions please. First question: in the different videos that deal with this fragrance you recommend both Amazon and Escentual as retailers. I have been on both sites and the prices are very similar (and great value). However, on Amazon, a couple of reviews suggest that the EDP refill they bought does not smell as good as the original EDP, almost implying it may be a fake or a second. Any advise on this? Am I better off using Escentuals? Are they reputable fragrance retailers? Second question: I am very intrigued by the L'Eau d'Issey Florale you talk about in another video, as I really love rose as an accord (I do buy rose absolute now and again). Is the Florale as fresh (oceanic) and as long lasting as the original? Is the rose they use in it quite fresh? How do I go about getting a sample? Last question: have you done a video about Calyx by Clinique (originally by Prescriptives)? I have checked your grapefruit videos and it's not in there. It is another favourite of mine and I'd love to know what you think. Sorry about the length of this. Thank you.
Love it (EDT version) since 1992. Just for the record YSL Opium may be similarly or even longer lasting. But, it does not matter since both are iconic incredible products!
a very nice review dear Soki, I have never had any chance to smell this perfume nor any other perfume from this perfume designer ether. which one you recommend? BTW, I always prefer the EDP version that lasts longer. PLs let me know :)
You managed a description for Issey Miyake, 17 notes, I am impressed lol. It does last forever, almost like it becomes your scent. ....and you made me realize I am into Ocean/Aqua scents...I love Aqua Di Gi O and I used to wear Cool water for Women...🌊
I think you’ve described this scent perfectly! Ozone-y and ocean-y. I received a tester of this as gratis when I worked at a high end department store and I was very intrigued by the scent. It’s extremely unusual. I’ve never smelled anything like it. It’s clean, but there’s something unique and more complex about it than a fresh linen scent. It’s a good one, for sure!
you know a lot about perfumes! Please help me ! I fell in love with moment de Bonheur perfume from if Rocher years ago but they stopped it, and I l’ve been trying to find something similar for years, but never came across anything with this smell. Would you have any idea?
This fragrance is definitely not a blind buy..this smells like a plain rose water to me..very mild and longevity is also based on our body chemistry..i recommend you all to sample this before buying..Do not waste money just because everyone is gasing this up..it's certainly not for everyone..
This review is kind of messy…I think you’re describing the EDT version in the whole video…The “original” as you call it is the EDT. It came first back in the 90’s and it’s what people think first of when they talk about the original L’eau d’Issey. The notes you also described are for the EDT. There’s no lily of the valley in the Eau de Parfum version, only in the EDT…Maybe you’re a bit confused, but anyway this is a review for a perfume so maybe you should have done better research…No trying to be mean or rude…this is 100% an honest feedback on your review. 😊
Would you recommend the edt or the edp? I can get a mini EDT but also my mom has that one and I have such dry skin and am worried about longevity. But also I kinda don't want to purchase an big bottle...
I’d recommend getting a sample size before getting a big bottle. I have the EDT and the full size cost me $106. It’s very, very pricy.. however, it smells incredible. I’d describe it as a very aquatic, fresh, honeydew floral scent.. I know water doesn’t have a smell, but it smells like water lol. It has a honey-ish, white flower smell to it too and it’s genuinely wonderful. I’ve noticed that it lasts a very long time and you can actually smell it. However, I really do recommend getting a sample size first as some people won’t enjoy it or will prefer finding a perfume they like more than immediately spending over a hundred dollars on this one.
No i got this today..and you were correct..most of the overly hyped fragrances never work for me 😢..it does smell like a sweat or a plain rose water..nothing so special about this perfume..must have sampled this one but blind bought cause alot of people raved about it..my bad😞
@@SokiLondon oh i got confused...your link is for the EDT, is the review for the EDP or the EDT? Just wondering cause sometimes there are differences other then the lasting powers between the perfume and the toilet
Everyone’s has different choices… I searched for this for about 10 years …. Couldn’t find it… as I forgot the name only the bottle was in my mind… also it’s cover shape was changed So when I found it, I bought 2 bottles
My signature, I always get compliments of I smell fresh, like I just stepped out of the shower even late into the day. As a nurse, that’s amazing
I smell honeysuckle immediately spraying. I bought this blind buy because I've heard it's fresh and aqua like. I LOVE this!

L'eau d'Issey eau de parfum is my absolute favorite perfume of all time. It is so good. So warm and flowery and classy yet sensual
since this one released 1992 the year I was born, I order it already. Thank you for good reviews.
Awesome !
It's an aquatic soft floral and fresh with a hint of green, almost like walking in a floral forest during rain. Very classy and sophisticated and soft. I hope they could make EDP version of this as I want it to last all day.
Would you call it an aquatic perfume? I'm really trying to find a long lasting one for summer that smells like the ocean 🌊

I'd add it is very sensual. Do not know how or why, but it is. EDT in particular....
I was looking for a very long lasting perfume since perfumes don't last on me.I need to try this one
Yes definitely try it

What s the difference between this and the eau the toilette? In the 90 when I was young thoutgh it was to heavy maybe now I can try again.
