I use an iRig, direct box, and iPad. I’ve toured with it and I’m in two signed bands using this equipment. Definitely not the best, but there are a lot of great options that are affordable.
i would also add in some type of portable external mixer in case you need to sum multi-mic drums to one track and still have other preamps available on the interface
Older laptops ftw. 2018 Dell Inspiron here. i7, added ram to get to 16gb and I generally don't have to watch out for what and how many plugins I pull up in Reaper. Multiple instances of Torpedo Wall Of Sound instantly kills performance though 😅. Oh well, makes you commit...
Quick question, Miami, why go with the Steven slate modeling microphone instead of the Antelope Audio modeling microphone? I am a big fan of Antelope Audio’s interfaces, but I don’t have a lot of experience using their mics. Just wondering about your thoughts on the matter!
