V.2.0 has going for it: - a much better pyramid - the crazy camels - minor game-play improvements. What I don't like: - The pop-up will eventually deteriorate; it seems just a bad idea. - The new money is clearly inferior to the old one. - I much prefer the clear, beautiful graphic style of the old version for the cards and tiles. Their new look is gaudy and less functional. - Not important, but I'll mention it anyway: I MUCH prefer the wacky old box cover. The new one is just "ok" (barely). After all, this game is about CAMELS, not some random people!
Thanks for this very nice and informative comparison video. One minor thing thou. In the end on the "PROS & CONS" list you have written "Production-Old-Cins and money cards" should be "Coins" i guess. I did get this game to my collection now finally. 2nd edition.
Hi Board Game Geek. You have a great show, I really enjoy how you explain games so well. But when the notes that pop up on the screen I think are too small. Please can you make it a bit bigger.
Didnt know there was an update. Great comparison! It does look better. We love this game! Upgraded with metal game coins and hearing the clink adds to the excitement
Yes! I watched the video about the new version to see if all variations introduced by the expansion were there and... they aren't... except the "group bets". I think I will keep the old version for now.
Superb and thorough review. I love the Dice Tower trio but would also love to direct folks from that review to this one that really shows the great comparison!! I love the game but I’m thinking of the new edition and then using my old money, so to speak! Great review!!
Excellent systematic comparison! Very informative and your enthusiasm shines through. Loved the old version, looking forwards to trying the new version. 🌴🐫🐪🐫🐪🐫🌴
My experience with pop up books is that they wreck very easily. I would expect this to be no different and I don't like that it is attached to the board should that happen. Crazy camels looks cool to me. Artwork in the new is nicer, but I have no issue with the old. The biggest thing about the new version for me is the pyramid. I wish one could upgrade just that.
Dan, any thoughts on the track extension from SuperCup versus the new board? I thought that the games with lots of players benefited by having a slightly longer race so players could take more actions. If the new game had that, it would seem like a good decision to upgrade.
In my review for Super cup I go into a lot of detail why I strongly disliked the longer track. It made the game much too long. This one feels perfect length and it plays well at all player counts!
You forgot a very important feature: the price! Here in europe ypu get the old version + expansion for 15 Euros. The new verion costs three times as much
The crazy camels literally make no sense. Look at the board. It is a closed race. Why are there camels that are not a part of the race (you are unable to bet on them, thus are not in the race)? If this is a race involving betting, the officials would have these camels removed. I'll stick to the original thank you very much. Plus the expansion is fantastic!

Great comparison of the two editions, Dan. The new version sure looks amazing and thanks for giving us a look at it
Thanks Tim!
Parabéns e obrigado pelo excelente vídeo que auxiliou muito na compra da versão 2!

Cool!
Which coins did you get?
@@trojan403 The ones from Viticulture work great!
I definetly prefer wood over plastic.
Whenever they replace wood for plastic in board games I get dissapointed.
Love the first version .. with the expansion..

Yeah I use the playing mat and couldn’t imagine playing without the support dice, so fun to pop one in at the last minute lol
On the older box it said 2 players and on the new minimum 3 players.. what about that? Thank you
I wouldn't recommend with two players.
@@TheGameBoyGeeks Why would you not recommend it? Why doesn't it work well with two?

You can play this version like the first edition, right? Seems like it would be possible.
Yes you can.
Excellent systematic comparison! Very informative and your enthusiasm shines through. Loved the old version, looking forwards to trying the new version.

@@TheGameBoyGeeks no worries. 👍
The new design and the 2 new camels are cool. But the charm of the game get lost, with all of the plastic.
don't like the amount of plastic used and the popup palm tree in the new edition. the pyramid is much better though
Oh I love the pop up Oliver!
Wow, seems like this game made a huge comeback for you, from hating it to loving it.
Yes it did!

I actually thought about getting the new version for the plastic pyramid lol but the new edition dice are smaller so it might not work

So if I can get the first edition with the super cup expansion for 15, pick it up? Or get the 2nd edition?
I still like the 2nd edition much better!
What's your top 3 racing game? This one VS Snow Tails? Thanks Dan.
This one for sure! Also like Jamaica, and down force
Was there anything in the original expansion not included in the new version?
The Camera
Position bets and extra dice are also missing
Great comparison. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Hmm I wonder why, it's the same price here! I wonder if it sold out and people are jacking the prices up over there?
Where do you get it?

You could play this version without the crazy camels, it seems...
