This man was a big influence on my life. A part of me still wants to be a "Dharma Bum"
U can still always me a dharma bum💙
👱🏻♂️YOURE JUST A BUM NOW
A big part of me wants to drink and do drugs and roam the world but I died, and found sobriety thank god.
Fascinating to see Jack speak in his native tongue....what a great clip. He was always so proud and ashamed of his ancestory throughout his lifetime.
first 40 seconds felt like infinity
attention spans were longer back then haha
@@joetaylor5546 Back then they gave time to their 'artistic', classy, animated intros. You only have to view cinematic films (movies) of the time that playfully and creatively made well designed animated letter-formed introductions.
Quebec's greatest contribution to Western Civilization, right there guys.
It hurts me to see him like this. He looks pained, and ten years older than he was. He burned his Roman candle on both ends. To think, if he had taken care of himself, he might still be around to talk to us.
alcool & drugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! un poète breton !
He’s also just trying to focus on his French
Agreed. Had he not drank, or even drank just on a social level I am certain he would have lived into his 70s. Or possibly beyond. And one could only wonder what written work he might have composed had he lived another 30 to 35 years.
Slowly killing yourself doesn't make you an interesting person, but interesting people tend to have those kinds of problems.
« Quebec's greatest contribution to Western Civilization » - Right on! Absolument vrai comme le câlisse, tabarnak !
Wish there was more video clips of him
@Broachizzzle Jack Kerouac was born on 9 Lupine Road in the West Centralville section of Lowell Massachusetts, 2nd floor. Jack Kerouac was born in Lowell, Massachusetts.
I was born and raised there we know Kerouac... his parents were born in Quebec... so once again. Just saying.
Oui, fascinant en effet. Pour moi, l'accent de Kerouac est très évocateur, me faisant penser au Québec d'une autre époque.
J'ai aussi apprécié les graphiques de l'introduction, très typiques de la télé canadienne des années 60.
Is the sound transferred from a soup can with a string attached to it?
poor jack !!!!!
if he could take care of himself he would'nt be jack kerouac, he would be ordinary people like my parents, who are still around spending money on vitamins and health insurance....
@Nessie Green
VERY astute observation ma'am !
@RideMyBMW he was born in the us on the east coast... just saying.
Kerouac = Quebec's greatest contribution to Western Civilization, right there guys. Along with "Safety Dance" and "The Quebec Act"
bring back well dressed smokers
Yes!!!! Where did those days go! There is wisdom is smoking!
A painfully truncated clip!
Is that it? really?
@flutterandwow "I repeat..."
WTF? You a bot dude? Check out Kerouac´s "Satori in Paris"...
>Born to french-canadian parents
What! But he's so... so utterly italian!
pantalaemon Italians and French are closer to each other than they are to anyone else
Writing is solitary ...selling the book is public marketing? How can you write a great book ....sell it...and not be eaten by publishing vampirism??? Kerouac couldn't square the pentagon and why should he??
yes
He looks really bloated and older than his 45 years. I'm 49 and look younger than old duluoz.
