- In celebration of La-La Land Records' expanded release of both John Williams Jurassic Park scores today, here is a new piano recording of "Journey to the Island", from the first film. As you can hear, I've made some tweaks to my arrangement in the 7 years since I posted my first recording of this piece. This is also my first video with my new digital piano, a Yamaha P-255; audio was recorded directly from the device onto a USB thumb drive and synced with the video, with a couple of flubbed notes replaced by bits of another take (audio only). There are a few of mistakes still in there, including a couple of weird accidental pauses. Oh well...nobody's perfect! :)
As usual, I must include the disclaimer that I do not have sheet music for this arrangement. If you'd like to be able to play music for which sheets are unavailable, I highly recommend you do what I did: check out a few books on music theory, study intervals and chords, and start figuring out stuff by ear. Progress will be slow at first. It will get easier. The more you experiment with different ways of playing the same music, the more you'll discover what works for your fingers and ears. It's such a rewarding process, and it doesn't take any special training or really even inborn talent.
1:16 such an epic scene when you See the Island for the first time and the helicopter fly‘s towards the Giant waterfall. I love it

I wish I could like this more often to emphasise how much I love this track from the album!
You're a piano beast, I'll suscribe to your channel now !
Wow such a incredible rendition 👌👌
Is Amanzing. The complete music theme. Excelent.
At 4:19 is when I turn this stuff to full blast
I don't know why but I just love the part at around 7:10. I actually found sheet music for this song on piano and am learning parts on my trumpet for this.
I’m so happy to hear you like this too! I thought I was the only one. I’ve always loved this part. It’s so ominous and foreboding. I recently learned it on piano from the sheet music book of the movie!
@@elijahlaplaca4903 Nice! I am not very good at piano, but my main instrument is the trumpet. I did learn how to play that part, and I also wrote a full trumpet cover for this song. I do need the change some bits of it but overall it is good. Really difficult going for 8+ minutes without a break and half of it is really high!
@@troyandrade435 cool
could you please share where you found the sheet music, I've been searching for a good piano arrangement of the entire song but they're either not that good or they cost money.
@@bovandenelzen7487 OH gosh man that's been a while. I've got it on my laptop saved as a PDF, not sure if I still have the source. I can look on my laptop tomorrow and see. Let me get back to you.
Beautiful !
GREAT WORK!!!!!!
“There it is.”
Mr. Alan... WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK

Glad to see you got a new and improved piano!
Does anybody know what kind of piano this is?
Great job
Amazing job!! I really like this a lot! I'm not sure why you haven't gotten more likes and views, you should. :)
Wonderful ☺️👌
Hey, Joe's posted something! As always, great work! How ya been? Good holiday? Any plans for upcoming pieces? Super stoked to see that you aren't dead in my sub box!
Thanks, Bridger Farnsworth! It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm great - hoping to post more videos very soon! As usual, it's mainly technical concerns that slow me down. :P
Great to hear! Looking forward to your next upload :)
Holy shit. INSTA sub.
Oh hey cool. An upload!
They've been known to happen every now and then!
Congrats

There is sheets for this, not what he played exactly, but this song and it still sounds great, on Musescore. Just search Journey to the Island Jurassic Park Piano.
Can you put up a tutorial for this?
Would it be possible for you to make sheets of this in the near future? Great music, by the way!
Nice!
Are you happy with the P-255?
Anyone who would like music for this send me a message. I spent the last few months doing a massive edit to the condensed full band score of this song and did my best to arrange it to play on piano.
Let me know if you received my email with the music.
this is so fckin amazing !
Does anybody know what kind of piano this is?
Check the description. It's obviously a digital piano. Yamaha P-255, to be more precise.
Can you give us the partiture?
Jurassic park in 1950 hahahaha
bawsah koopa hehe!
You could upload the sheets?
Sorry, my friend...nothing's changed since I wrote the video description. :)
Is that also a piano? How do you call it?
