I love how he threw the AC/DC reference in at 1:40 for a split second. That is extremely helpful to those of us who are always trying to "connect the dots" of unrelated songs in order to gain a greater understanding of musical structures. Bravo, Sir!
I love your videos Mike, when I need a refresher for a riff you generally already have done it. So here's one for you, only because this song reminds me of them, Honeymoon Suite New Girl Now. Definitely dating myself with that one.
hey thanks for the kind words. AND YES,.......I LOVE THAT SONG.i may already have a lesson on it.type in mike gross honeymoon suite on utube.i may have it.KEEP ROCKIN'
I think I checked and none that I found. So here is a personal question for you, and not sure if anyone has ever asked, what was your very first guitar?
Good lesson! However, when I listen to the tune, it sounds like there are two guitars which play slightly different chords during many sections, but most obviously during the main riff, at the 'C9 chord to G/B' transition. I swear that I can hear the low E string playing notes during both of those two chords, and possibly the D string too, and it would be impossible for all of those notes to be created by one person. I am curious, because I love the immensely dense sound at that point in that riff. Could you have a listen & let me know what you think re: that section? Thanks!
I also hear a low E string in there and something that isn't a normal triad on the second chord. I think the progression is something like D Fadd9 Em. The Fadd9 is played 1 3 3 0 x x I find the Fadd9 difficult to arch my hand to though so I tend to end up just playing F5 in the lower three strings!
Don't forget AC/DC. Lots of songs built around these chords, plus all three of those songs are tuned down a least a half step. I believe AC/DC is more like a 1/4 step down.
My phone shut down in the middle of a post so I'm not sure you got this but I was wondering if you could make a lesson on sebastian bachs kicking and screaming.
HI! Great job! I think the major problem with making tabs to this song is that the both guitarists are playing different chords. Listen to the original and to the different live versions and learn. The chords played are going nicely together though. Do yer own version, ha-ha! As long as it sounds good.
Tabs show the root notes D, F, E as the last three in the verse; great for bass, but miss the subtle major/minor kisses that give those great dissonant tones. The modified C9, GB nails it.. Thanks!

Pat and Jim loved AC/DC, Black Sabbath, etc. I got to hang out with them for months.

Jim and Pat are playing slightly different parts. I toured with them back in the early 90's. Watched them every night. RIP Pat D.
@@dougtull4594 Anyone know the parts?
