Aim: To understand the impact of an HIV diagnosis on a person’s cervical screening needs.
Learning Outcomes:
• Gain understanding of the prevalence of HIV in both Ireland and on a global scale
• Identify the diagnosis pathway for HIV and recognise the importance of early detection
• Understand the impact of HIV infection on HPV transmission and persistence
• Demonstrate improved knowledge of HIV-related health issues, with a particular focus on the importance of cervical screening for individuals living with HIV, and the available support services.
