- The second episode in the #Wohnfühlen series, where I take a look at the Bürstner Lyseo M Harmony Line 690G that I'll be using over the forthcoming week.
UPDATE - The model we see here is FRENCH spec, not German. Despite the German number plates. And the jury is still out whether or not the Truma Combi 6E (electric) is standard or not in the UK variant. All details will be finalised before the full review on this channel in a few week's time.

My (Blaupunkt based set to 'Bus') satnav led me to a bridge a bit like that in France, I had my wife get out and check for clearances and we did make it ok but it was close and slow. Then we found the satnav was trying to take us though a static caravan site so we have to turn around and go back anyway LOL. I'm always rel-earning to take satnav routing with a bit of skepticism :D

Thanks Andrew. It's a sticking point with me that motor homes without self enclosed one piece moulded showers ; should have the entire bathroom be a one piece moulded unit. Still could have the swing sink. It just seems to me ridiculous at the hefty price points to have to deal with water damage from the shower as well.
To be fair, the washroom moulding is lipped which should prevent any ingress.
@@andrewjditton We will have to agree to disagree on this point. For something that costs as much as a house and even more to repair I don't want to have to check the lip on the mouldings everytime prior to using the shower.

I have a burstner 2008 travel van, love this review.
It really is a lovely motorhome. It seems well finished so probably justifies the price. Hopefully, they'll have one at the NEC so I can take a look myself. Thanks for sharing. Graham
I've just enjoyed watching the Wohnfühlen review and travelogue again (Jan 2021).
The first time I viewed the series I thought that the Bürstner was fantastic but completely out of our reach.
However, having done loads of desk research on switching from caravanning to motorhoming, and having gleaned some helpful expert advice from you and others via RUclips comments, I am beginning to think that a Lyseo Harmony 690 G on the cheaper Fiat base and with the optional drop down bed might actually be a smart buy for the long term, particularly if we could source a recent second hand example.
The Bürstner seems so well built for longevity, with some really practical style touches. The base price point seems quite high, but it does contain many extras that would be cost options on the "value" brands. Maybe Dethleffs offers slightly better value, along with similar attributes like build quality and the double floor which seems really useful for cold weather. However, there are useful design elements in Bürstners which seem unique.
Luckily we have a Bürstner dealer just 40 mins drive away who is amenable to short test drives, so we'll do some real world testing as soon as the latest lockdown restrictions end (Jan 2021).
I hope you will be able to do some more quality travelogues later in 2021! I think we will use the caravan as much as permitted in 2021 and switch to motorhoming in 2022 when we will (hopefully!) be able to use it as we wish.
Dethleffs and Bürstner have the same parent company. But agreed, Bürstner has a lot of 'quality' touches which aren't all the flashy glitzy things that cheaper vans have just for showroom appeal. Fingers crossed for later this year! Cheers.
Thanks Andrew, some very neat little touches there, notwithstanding the huge number of cup holders; the magnetic glasses, the loo roll dispenser and the most excellent shower mechanics are all great. Lovely, very relaxing, feeling very chilled :) really like the cubbies as you walk in, great design statement though terrible waste of space at the moment so I hope “glass” shelves are available and Adria I think do black gloss fronted cubbies which I also love. Bob Earnshaw has a great review of those magnetic glasses on his channel. Personally I’d prefer more modern colours but I doubt I’m the target market ;-) Anyway great walk through, thanks.

Last October we visited the German/Austria side of the Alps which was nice. We payed €8 for a 10 day Austrian vignette and avoided Switzerland. It was a good trip mainly along the A8 in Germany as it's toll free so considerably cheaper than France. It was a nice change to see Bavaria and some excellent Stellplaz's on the way: highly recommended. Recycling is also fun in Germany, especially the drinks bottles!

@@flybyairplane3528 Wow. I did discover that Aldi machines only accept Aldi water bottles so we were stuck with all the UK bottles as no one wanted them LOL. Now we know the drill it will be easier :). Stellplatz bins vary too, one had a single bin for everything but another had 6 bins of various colours and even with Google Translate camera-live mode I still didn't figure out what went in what !

7:30 that shelf is for the obligatory model train layout of course, which I feel should be part of every van trip. Unfortunately I ended up buying some Fleishmann HO stock instead of N gauge as I got distracted at a train exhibition, but I did since discover a video of them taking 18" flexi-track curves so that's my current focus.
The main feeling I get from the video is that you are adapting to motorhome/campervan outings rather well so I wonder about the future of caravanning for you - which are much more suited to living full time in various ways.
Being a campervan person myself I find the ability to stay in the van at rest stops and all weathers makes it a great exploration vehicle. One does have to perfect the art of slouching using chair combinations however :) Kudos to Burstner, I do like their Harmony finishes, it's a really interesting video concept and the video is almost like being on an adventure oneself!

@@andrewjditton I recall you getting the Dapol set, I look forward to that!. I looked at some A3 Dapol in N and was awfully tempted but couldn't resist the black/red DB steam locos in HO with all the valvegear like the Fleischmann 4010.
My next move is to buy a pasting table from Screwfix (£10), cut it down and rebuild it into a folding layout of around 48" by 35" or so in the manner of this:

but perhaps a little deeper and with a single track with sidings in the middle. I'm going to measure it so it fits in the garage under the bed but can be pulled out and used/fettled on the dinette. It might even run on USB power TBH - I need to experiment a bit!

@@flybyairplane3528 I have seen Z gauge when I was younger yes. But now they are just fuzzy blobs without the correct lighting and magnification or a good webcam streaming to a TV :D.
A continuous Ho flexitrack bent round a 9" radius is actually Ok for some locos and wagons so Ho is still versatile - I've decided that the trick is to shorten the items that run on is by choosing things that were short in real life; rather than changing the scale ! E.g. run a Fleischmann 4000 instead of a Fleischmann 4055 !!
I also wonder if a slight bank on tight curves may help - I've just thought of that as an aid to stop the tendency to hop off the edge.
So far liking the look of this model, especially the swing out wash basin, me and my partner are hoping that Burstner do this on a 3.500 kg? Looking forward to watching your full review in a few weeks Mr Ditton.

Hi Andrew, I've a 2019 roller team T590. I've had the same issue as you the speakers only work in the front. So I bought a Bluetooth speaker to connect and have sound in the rear. But Big BUT it just won't connect . I can't connect a Bluetooth speaker. Can you add this to your future reviews. Cos it should just work at £50+k Bluetooth should just work in the rear. Why. Why why. ??? I just want my 50k van to connect to a blue tooth speaker and it won't. Not a lot to ask.

Nice van the price reflects the quality I suppose. We have the same loo roll holder in our Dethleffs and it seems natty but it’s a bit of a pain. The loo roll breaks all the time. 🤦🏻♀️

Dont use the cup holders on top of the passenger side dashboard because if anything leaks it will dry the electrics
All vans built during covid craziness have lots of unlisted premium features f.e when you lift the vine glass you can peep at your double floor

For all that money, I'd have a Panel Van Conversion for the double rear doors and sliding side door - only slightly narrower and a lot cheaper

Andrew , it doesn’t seem that you have Fantastic fans in RV’s in Europe, the have them in every airstream in the USA,they work well. The price is close to the airstream interstate , airstream is $130000.00 to $190000.00 , but the rig you’re testing looks to be a little bigger

Regarding the german vs. UK specification topic I was wondering why Bürstner UK (and other companies in the past) just don't provide you with a UK specified car. Wouldn't this be easier?
