I just found out he passed. Had only one chance to see him and had choose between the rent and the show-now I wish I hadn't been so responsible-pretty sure James would tell me that I did right by doing right by my kids though.

i sure wish some one would put james hands music to karaoke i think it would be a great tribute to have the world sing his songs
I just discovered James Hand, and I was astonished at his talent and that I had never heard of him before. After immersing myself in many of his songs, I am truly a passionate fan. I just wish that I would have been able to see him live. This tribute was absolutely touching and clearly showed the outpouring of love that these young musicians had for James Hand. I cried during every song. God bless you all for the love and passion that you have for your friend and this beautiful music.
I saw James twice before he died. He really was a sweet fellow. He talked to people like he was family even though he'd just met them. One of a kind
I miss him a lot. I cried so much when he left us .
Ole slim when we laid him to rest 5 years ago. Then on the day he died 5 years to the day we laid his brother bimbo right beside him. I could feel as his presence when I reach down and brush the pine needles off. Imagine him Ricky cardwell Billy Joe savor are all in the band in heaven
I don't even remember putting this video in my Country Album playlist. Never heard of James Hand. Not much info on Wikipedia about this songwriter. Glad to have a chance to hear this.
Beautiful Bethy....just beautiful!! James would be so honored and proud to know all of these fabulous musicians were singing his songs. He'd probably say, "Well, I reckon they make my old sad ass songs sound pretty good, don't they?" Incredibly moving tribute....truly. Thank you for honoring James and being his friend. He loved you from the first day he met you. He is smiling down on all of you for this beautiful, beautiful tribute. Simply amazing.

I'm sad to hear about Slim. I'm glad we got to talk to him, shake his hand, and hug him out in Santa Fe a few years ago. And, darn, we lost Will from James' band recently. Thank you all for this great tribute to the great James Hand!
