No it was NOT racism. He said himself categorically then and there in his interview that it was just general stick and nothing to do with race and he did not want people to run with that misinformation and inject race into it. Yet surprise surprise a bunch of comments are still claiming that in this comment section. Players getting hassled and booed by opponents fans is common, especially when the player is an ex player of the team or when they are a star player. He was getting stick and that's completely normal in football. A professional football player knows how to cop it. The only time fan stick is out of line is when it's racial or discriminatory.
