- In this tutorial created by CyArk, you are going to learn about Unwrapping and Texturing inside of RealityCapture software.
It will cover the following:
Unwrap Settings
Texturing Settings
Different Unwrap Styles
Polycount and Texture resolution
Texture reprojection tool
Exporting models

It would be good to see the different uses and differences of texeles, with examples :D
Can't find the *Maximum texture resolution* menu's voice in the new version, any tip?
Under "MESH MODEL" search in den Band "Mesh Color & Texture" for "Settings".
I'm running RV 1.0.3.4658 and Texture Reprojection is not available. Any ideas how to reproject it on the low poly model?
Cheers
Hi, this version is more then three years old and it was not possible to do it in this release. Actually, this release shouldn't be working anymore, so please download the newest release.
Hi, what is the reason behind not doing "part merging" when simplifying your model?
Please, in what time of video is this?
@@CapturingReality 3:33 it's called "preserve parts" in this older RC version. Is there some specific reason why he chooses to preserve parts for simplified model?
@@gelisob Hi, this was set to save some RAM during computation.
Thanks good job. Error why texture ? Message error : "It is not possible to achieve unwrap with the current settings. Please increase the maximal texture count or the maximal texture resolution"
You got this error when it is not possible to create unwrap by used settings. As it is written in the error you need to set higher maximal texture count or texture resolution in unwrap settings.
@@CapturingReality I have this warning every time I use fixed texel size. Is there any reason for this?
@@gobi6316 Mostly this error is for Maximal texture count settings. Which resolution do you have set?
@@CapturingReality I tried 4K, 8K and 16 K, and it is the same.
@@gobi6316 Can you contact our support with this problem?
I let my computer run for 30 hours thinking it was texturing a large scan of mine, I was left with 60 8k textures that were all blank! nice haha
Hi, this is really strange. What were your texture settings?
@ it was running into some issue silently, I only had successful results when I brought my mesh into 25m triangle chunks. I think it was a ram issue. But it was interesting that the cpu was at 100 the whole time
@@434utopia How was the model big originally? There is some needed cache for texturing which depends on the model size (for example you need to have 500 bytes of storage for each triangle, or 1kb every 2 tris, or 1mb every 2000 tris, or 1 gb every 2 million tris, or 1tb every 2billion tris).
@ total size was 340m triangles, I just wish it had told me it didn’t have enough ram or something. Progress was frozen but timer kept ticking, cpu was at 100%, Disk Drive was at 40%, so I assumed it was calculating something! But it would’ve gone on forever. Final texturing took around 10 mins per 25m chunk.
@ so in accordance with your calculations, I could only texture 32m triangles at a time with 16gb of ram. Time to upgrade!
Damn my program would crash so hard. It would probably open a portal.
No longer valid, there's no Reconstruction Ribbon
Hi, you can find those tools in the MESH MODEL ribbon and SCENE 3D TOOLS context ribbon now. Check this video to see more about UI changes ruclips.net/video/SLGImZYy4aw/видео.html
