Another thing from a two commander owner: Keep the skylight drain holes free by enlarging the opening where the drain pipes exit the floor pan and periodically blowing out any debris with a compressor. Also, the cover over the engine simply gives mice and rats a place to hide - remove it and keep the engine clean by occasionally using a cleaner and water - you won't hurt anything - it'll dry pretty quickly on a sunny day.

A few recommendations from a two commander owner: 1) always have a spare oil pan plug and copper washer handy - you may need to change it out when the old plug head gets deformed. When I bought a second commander, I had to cut the old plug off because of inactive use by the previous owner. 2) Always wipe the face of the oil pan before replacing the plug - grit on the face of the oil pan will allow oil to leak between the pan and the washer. 3) when removing the old filter, keep the open end up so the oil doesn't spill out. 4) Wipe the face of the oil filter receiver to remove any grit. 5) Because the space is difficult to get a good grasp on the new filter, you can use an oil filter wrench to tighten it - just don't tighten it too much - judge by the turns - one rotation maximum.

A family that Jeeps together stays together ❤ They loved it and she did well for her first service. I know you know the specs and capacity of the engine but you should start the vehicle to fill the oil filter and check for leaks it's just good practice. I just did a rear hub on my GC limited it was the easiest one I did aka no hammer time 😂 Now it looks like I'll have to do some exhaust work 😢
