I tend to not cover US Sports but I am fascinated by college sports and the entire collegiate system. Full disclosure I am working on a piece about younger talent in the UK around the business of Academies for football clubs. Not quite NIL but adjacent in nature. Stay tuned!
@@TheLongPlayUK I thoroughly look forward to it. Not that it will be completely related to business, but on my Sport Management MS we looked at a paper on super elite athletes and the prevalence of childhood trauma. Your next video idea resonated the paper with me, I figured you might enjoy the read. By Hardy et al., 2017! Cheers Jordan!
2:19 Is it 20 or 200 million dollar 2:34 is it 10 or 100 million dollar Before this video, I didn't know Rory McIlroy. If you'd given any sort of introduction, it would have been helpful for me. I want this type of video to be in some sort of segments or chapters in the video for better understanding. A slide with a title at the beginning of every chapter will be very helpful.
Interesting concept. I encourage you to see one of my recent videos on English Cricket, it's very detailed! Who in particular would you like to see highlighted?
@PraiseAkinyemi-v2t Harry Brook is an excellent player but wouldn't be the subject of one of these videos as he doesnt have a long history of public investments like many others do. Virat however is a different story! Full disclosure I am planning a video on the IPL coming in March so be on the lookout for that!
The monies you have mentioned for 2024 were lower when Rory won those titles. Many things such as Tiger Woods and the emergence of LIV have increased purses in all golf tournaments. Even inflation would t match the values of today.
LIV has got everyone paid its really fascinating to see. LIV golfers are paid through the nose. PGA golfers are paid more as a result. The tide has risen and it has truly lifted all boats. What a time to be a golfer
Some basketballers and also cyclists, like Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepol or Mathieu Van Der Poel. Bit niche on the latter and maybe not one for your audience but a wider look on the sport of cycling as a whole might be interesting.
Especially with the surge in interest after London 2012, Team Sky, Wiggo and then the demise after the Ineos takeover, the UK not having any more world tour races in either women's or men's and then the folding of GB's last conti (third tier equivalent) team. There's also the angle of the Saudi interest in basically buying the sport of cycling in a similar way to what they've done with golf but how it hasn't got over the line because of the monopoly the ASO (the TdF organiser) has on the sport.
Rory is one of my favourite athletes I really enjoyed putting this together! If you want more sign up to the newsletter: thelongplay.co.uk 🙏🏾
Another great video Jordan - would love a video on NCAA & the NIL agreement! Keep it up

Can you do one on players who weren’t “successful” in their sports but ended up making tons of money somewhere else.
Excellent concept. Who comes to mind for you in that mould?
@@TheLongPlayUK this has got to be Mathieu Flamini and his Biotech firm
@@TheLongPlayUK try junior bridgeman, he's a retired nba player

Its 200m over 10 years, so 20m per year. Same with the 100m, 10m per year.
It's both @Slawswims is correct!
I think you should make a video on cricket and it’s highlight players
Interesting concept. I encourage you to see one of my recent videos on English Cricket, it's very detailed! Who in particular would you like to see highlighted?
I just recently started to gain interest with the sport so I’d say Harry Brook and virat kohli

No he doesn’t have deals with Oakley and footjoy. Those are not current sponsorship deals
Yeah not all are current its a list of some throughout his career
25 million now for fed the x cup
Insane. Absolutely insane.
Adidas no longer owns taylormade.
why did he never win a masters???
This is Rory you're talking about. Plenty of time to bag himself a Green Jacket or two!
Megan Markel would have been better off staying with Rory .!
She's doing alright where she is now tbf 😅
