  • Hello my Friends! 🌹✨ Veiled Cane is a fun and exciting way to add color to your work! Traditionally, it is comprised of any transparent color over a white core revealing its signature inner glow!! This is a perfect technique to begin with if you are working towards making more complex cane. Let’s start simple and play with overlapping spirals! 🤗✨ Thanks so much for joining me!! ✨👋🏽✨
    I hope you all enjoy this one!
    Cheers to you all - Robin 🌈🌹✨

    This bead is so pretty. I shall give this a go in June when my craft shows have a gap. Constantly replenishing stock at the moment, so will save this as a treat & to have a play. Thank you for your brilliant videos Robin xx hope you’re doing well xx

    Very pretty. I was going to say a black core would be nice, but seeing the finished bead, where the clear allows you to see all the way through. Hmmm, maybe not 😊. Nice way to use up my leftovers from other projects. When I make veiled cane, I tend to make a lot. Thanks again for another inspirational video. Happy Mother's Day.

      I didn't see your comment about the black, but I thought the same thing!

      Thanks Linda! 🤗 I did make a few with color on the core! 👍🏽🌹😂. They look great too…but I love the overlapping transparency here! ✨💫 Definitely a great way to play with cane ends! Glad you enjoyed!! 🤗💫Cheers- Robin 🌹 Happy Mother’s Day!! 🌈

    Oh big thanks I have been wanting to see how veiled cane was made. I think an old process any many lamp workers make this but wonder if calling it “ veiled” new or from hot shop glass blowers

      Hi Maria! 👋🏽🌹 I’m so glad to shed a little light on the Veiled Cane with you! 😃 Im not sure of the origin of the name….but it’s definitely a classic technique in both flameworking and hotshop! 🤗💫 Thanks so much for your comment! ✨✨Hope you are doing well and enjoying your weekend!! Cheers- Robin 👋🏽🌹

    That's beautiful! Can I use black for the core/ footprint bead? Also, we are moving because Montana sucks unless you are white and Christian! Do you have any hints, tips, tricks for moving a small glass studio? We are probably ending up in Illinois.... so a cross country move? Any advice is appreciated

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  Год назад +1

      Hi Morgan! 😃💫 A color core would look great! The thinner you can make it, the better it can look, giving more depth! 🌹🌹🌹 Wow! That’s a Big Move your making! 😲 Illinois sounds pretty cool!
      When I need to move glass and studio stuff I like to use good plastic bins. That way nothing is going to cut or poke through. Thin bubble wrap is handy as well. Since you need to pack efficiently, try to get as much as you can in each bin…but disperse the weight by packing heavy glass rods with lighter weight items. Make sure you can lift them! And mark everything ‘Studio’! 😂👍🏽 I’m super excited for you!!
      Lol! Moving sucks!…I fear that day!! 😂✨😂 Good Luck to you Morgan!! I hope the people are nicer wherever you end up!!🌹💫 👋🏽 Hugs- Robin 🎉🌹🌈
