Such a great hike. Really unique rocks and vegetation not to mention the random duck! Thanks for sharing this one Kate, I hope you’re feeling better so sorry to hear about the passing of your Nan it’s really sad when they go and I can relate to that feeling of it being like a light or magic gone from your days. Take care.
Thanks Kate. Lovely river walk and video. It looked slow, hard going in places but also relaxing and restorative walking and camping with a mate on beautiful country.
Good video. Can’t go wrong with stainless Mora Pro for about $20. File the spine to create 90 degree edge and you have yourself a great quality and lightweight bush craft/backpacking knife. Any ferro rod should work. I took one off of one of those cheap magnesium strikers for backpacking. Entire set up is about $25. Cheers
@@KateGrarock Hi Kate - after new job/covid, I'm starting to get back into looking after myself. I'm not doing much hiking, but I am walking at lunchtimes to get the legs moving again! When the heat dies down, I'm hoping I'll be fit enough to get back out there, without feeling like I'm going to die 😀
Haha sorry to hear that mate. You should checkout a new vid I made where I get 4 friends to taste test different meals. Some shockers in there. But also some delicious ones. Happy hiking
The extra 150 metres was definitely worth it. Fantastic spot. Sorry to hear about your Nanna. Expected or not, there is always a hole left. The other side of the river always looks easier - there has to be a proverb in that!
Great video Kate. Thank you for sharing. What a beautiful area!! It looks like you and Erin had a lovely stay. Sorry about your grandmother. How precious that you had her in your life. She must've been super proud of you 😊
Beautiful film. Do you do all your editing yourself? If so, it’s getting better and better when compared to your earlier (also enjoyable) work. Thanks for sharing your hikes.
What a beautiful river and a great place to explore Kate - looking forward to seeing more! Sorry about your grandmother - she would love that you got back into nature to heal and reflect on how special she was to you.
A great adventure. Amazing what you can come across if you go just that bit further. I have a Morakniv Garberg stainless with Survival Kit (comes with a sheath, stone sharpener & fire steel). A good package & a good full tang knife.
So good to see you out again! Your editing is next level on this trip too... very schmick mate! Condolences for the passing of your Nanna too... I hope you find a little bit of magic popping up in unexpected places from now on, just to remind you that shes always keeping an eye out for you.💙
@@KateGrarock there's always some adventure in the wings... just haven't decided where it'll be this year, but it will be a paddle because I've got a shiny new Swift canoe heading my way right now 😁
Sorry about your grandmother, Kate. If that was me wading across a river, I would definitely go A over T and be sleeping in wet gear for the night! 🤣 Beautiful spot (despite there being no eels). 👍
Kate, could you PLEASE put the item - river and where you hiked from/to in the description. It makes a MUCH bigger connection with the viewer and lets us know what we are watching. It's gotta help grow the channel much more.
Hey mate I tend not to get specific these days as you never know who you may be sending down a crazy track (eg experience of the person watching) Happy to have conversations via private message. I know this may impact views etc but I think it’s the price I have to live with. I love encouraging people to get outdoors but I’d never want to send the wrong person into an area they don’t have the skills or experience to deal with that location safely. For that reason I only openly name formal trails. Not the off track stuff. Cheers.
Agree with you Kate. Also culturally respectful to keep these details out of online content. Lovely just know you’re on Yuin country🙂 So sorry to hear about your Nan. She must have been a very special person. I could sense your loss❤️
Thanks so much for watching everyone. I really appreciate all the great comments 😀 inspires me to keep making them. Thanks.

Kate Hikes! Keeping active is good 😎

I'm glad you enjoyed those Raddix meals more than me, Kate. I thought they tasted like spiced lawn clippings! Great to see you out and about again.

Hiking with Dr Rock is a good one.
Haha so fun to be sharing the trail with a few friends.
@@KateGrarock does your spouse join you or is bushwalking/hiking not her thing?
Nice one Kate . Ya just gotta get out there sometimes eh . Glad you found the time

Canoe down the mongarlowe River
Love the look of that river.

Thanks mate. Yes I do. Lovely that you notice. I’ve been enjoying the learning process. Wish I had more time to dedicate to it but slowly slowing.
Hey Kate! What a magic spot. Would be great to raft down. Sorry to hear about your Nanna. xo

auriferous gold country walking past lots of gold Kate
Yes so much gold. I used to try to have a little pan but realised I lacked the skill and time.
I'm sorry for you lost your grandma

Looks like gold country

It's also easy for sensitive off track places to be loved to death if details are shared too freely.
